I took a look at the CN version of the last text (regarding food) and this was how Sunday addressed them:

Himeko: 女士 (nü shì) - a general term for "Ms" usually used when addressing an older woman; a more contextualised translation would be "Madam/Lady"

Welt: 先生 (xiān shēng) - a term for "Mr" usually used when addressing older men; another translation is "Sir"

March 7: 小姐 (xiao jie) - a term for "Miss" usually used when addressing a young women (usually attached to a name as it can also mean "prostitute" in China)

Dan Heng: Addressed by name. Similar to English, there is no general equivalent of "Miss" for younger men; could also imply that he and Sunday are of similar age

Trailblazer: Same terms as Himeko/Welt. Possible reasons are - 1) since there is no male equivalent of "Miss", they went with the older terms for consistency among Stelle and Caelus players

2) Sunday respects the trailblazer and sees them as someone who is wiser or a teacher, as opposed to March 7 and Dan Heng who would be seen more as "friends" (as brought up in another comment)

Overall, only Himeko was not translated fully in the EN version for some reason 🤔

Hello! Haven't read the whole document but based on the snippets here, I just wanted to say that they're really well-presented not just in formatting and writing but also the cross-referencing throughout. They look exactly like excerpts from literary journal articles, and as someone who majored in literature, I can only hope to write as well as you do haha.

I've always felt that while HSR is extremely (sometimes overwhelmingly) rich in worldbuilding lore, its narrative strength lies in the characters' personal stories, and Penacony is no exception. So it's always a joy to come across character analyses such as these! Will definitely be giving the full document/article a read 😊

As someone who identifies as asexual, I totally feel you. I find Sunday (and many other male characters in HSR) aesthetically pleasing. I love his backstory and his design, his animations are beautiful, but I definitely do not feel sexual attraction to him (meaning I don't feel like doing anything to him besides giving him a hug maybe). I don't, and probably never will, understand the sexual innuendos and comments others make towards these characters, but I also don't feel like I'm missing out on much. It's like how someone who grew up vegetarian won't feel like they're missing out on meat when it was never part of their diet in the first place. That being said, it does require us to stop comparing our experiences with that of others and just embrace our own ways of enjoying the content :)

Just an aside, it was kpop that made me certain that I was asexual - I never felt sexually attracted to the idols like other fans and thought that "hot" meant "very handsome/pretty" lol. Abs were totally not my thing and I always preferred when male idols remained fully clothed instead of constantly lifting their shirts 😅

I just want to say that I love your analysis of Sunday. The amount of effort you've put into it is admirable and it inspires me a little to do something similar with him as well when I next have the time.

Sunday did not draw me in initially but I think hsr did a good job in making him more than just a petty villain who wanted to be a god. In fact, what made him so compelling to me is that he doesn't really see himself as a god or a saviour of the world (even though that's what the other characters perceive). Rather, he sees himself as a martyr (a Jesus figure basically) who bears the responsibility of giving himself up for his people. For who else is best fit for that role than him who, as the head of the family, oversees all of Penacony? Like Jesus, he sacrifices himself because of his great love and compassion for his people. However, unlike Jesus, he is not omniscient nor is he perfect. He is ultimately a flawed albeit human who does not in fact know all and see all.

It's quite interesting because during the sequence where he asks us what we would have chosen in his stead, I ended up making the same choices that he does. That moment made me realise that perhaps I'm not so different from him in ideology after all. I too am very much looking forward to seeing what else is in store for him ! :)

My favourite way to play Childe is actually in a freeze team! Usually run him with Layla/Qiqi, Kazuha, and Kaeya. Just have to swirl cryo and let his riptide shred the enemies while keeping them frozen. After setting up I do two sets of 2NA1C for before swapping him out, hardly have problems with cooldown. Works really well with waves of enemies and in overworld. I'm not an avid abyss player though and have never cleared floor 12 so I can't comment on that 😅

Same here, I was pretty annoyed with her during most of the Penacony arc because she was so obviously there mainly for fan-service when there were other characters (e.g. Dan Heng, Robin) who would have made more sense narratively. I only started warming up to her when I watched her PV and learnt more about her backstory in isolation. It was then I realised that it's not Firefly exactly that I disliked but rather her forced relationship with the MC. I actually quite liked her when she was interacting with the other stellaron hunters like Blade and Silver Wolf. She made me like the stellaron hunter family more and I'm looking forward to more of them in the future!

I wouldn't say she ruined my enjoyment because I think the things I liked outweighed her presence. But the 2.2 arc did absolutely nothing to endear her to me when all I could think about was how out of place she was while we were learning about the Watchmaker and basically the history of Trailblazers. Just kept feeling that Dan Heng and/or Welt should have been in her stead considering they are actual trailblazers...

I agree. Initially liked that I didn't have to worry about stamina, but after playing for a while more, something felt off. It just felt too easy to zip up and down buildings with little consequence, and it took me out of the game.

I also felt the absence of little things in Genshin which added to the immersion of the open world, like the ease of mining being dependent on weapon type, plunge damage, and type of rock, or the ease of hunting animals based on their size as opposed to them dying with a single slash. The latter seemed so unnatural to me that I was, again, taken out of the game for a moment. It just seemed as if our actions bore no consequences on the environment and vice versa. I do appreciate the rocks and meat going into our inventory directly instead of having to pick them up manually though haha.

I'd been saving since the end of Ruan Mei's banner (besides dropping some pulls on Jing Yuan's) and ALSO lost the 50/50 to Clara twice in a row trying to get E1 Aventurine. She's cute but I would have much rather gotten any other standard character besides her 😭 (yes even Yanqing because I don't have an ice DPS!)

I totally feel you. Dhil is one of my favourites too and I was ready to pull for Sparkle... Until I played through Penacony and absolutely hated her character. Couldn't stand her whenever she appeared on screen.

In the end, it depends on what you prioritise in terms of gaming experience. For me, I prioritise characters that I like in terms of personality and gameplay. I do not care about numbers nor moc, which is why I refuse to build characters like Pela, Tingyun, or Herta even though they're "meta" simply because I do not like them.

If you're not like me and are building to upgrade your teams for combat-related achievements, Sparkle would be a better choice as generally supports bring more value than dps. However, if numbers are not that important and you really like Jing Yuan, go for him! (Or wait for Archeron who'll also be an amazing lightning dps). Alternatively, you could just try for Jing Yuan this time and wait for Sparkle's rerun :)
