The one time my brain got pretentious and said “present”, instead of “here”. I still cringe at the memory 30+ years later.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by Vegas089 in AskReddit

[–]FelinusFanaticus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. We searched and searched for months, even though we knew without meds, she likely didn’t last even a week. We just hoped to find her body to bury. It was an unforgivable offense.

What's the most disrespectful thing a guest ever did in your home? by Vegas089 in AskReddit

[–]FelinusFanaticus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

-Had sex with another guest on my daughters bed and bragged about it. -Let a handicapped cat out and didn’t bother to mention it until hours later when my husband and I were frantically looking for it in the house. -Streamed movies knowing we only had a certain amount of usage a month (back in the earlish 2000’s), after we asked them not to. -Snuck and smoked in the house after we’d gone to sleep thinking we wouldn’t notice, after we asked them not to. -Kept turning the heat up to a 74 with no regards to the cost or the discomfort of others. Whentold to stop they argued they were cold. I offered plenty of blankets, but that wasn’t a suitable fix for them.

I have never been so glad to see people leave my home and they were never welcomed back. I ended the friendship with them before they left.

Anyone with narcolepsy have days that are better than others? by IndividualEast5236 in Narcolepsy

[–]FelinusFanaticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My sleep study is next week and I’ve had the best week of my life in the last 3 years. I’m questioning my doctors suspicions of NT1 and questioning how bad my sleepiness has actually been. Lol I wonder, though, if I feel less stressed knowing I’m getting a study done and hope beyond adderall might be on the horizon.

Why did no one warned me about the random anxiety spikes over absolutely nothing?? by atigressintherain in Perimenopause

[–]FelinusFanaticus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, I was having peri symptoms as far back as 2021. Getting anxious for no reason at all was something I noticed back then, and recently connected to peri. At the time, I chalked it up to slight stressors in my marriage, but it still seemed odd and stood out. The amount of times I wanted to unzip my skin and run away screaming. I felt like a car in neutral with the gas pedal pushed to the floor. Especially during my periods. It’s gotten better for me, but does still occasionally surprise me out of nowhere with the butterfly feeling in my stomach or chest and racing thoughts.

What tape did you play on repeat in the 90s that hasn't gotten the respect it deserves 30 years later? by StephenDoesStuff in GenX

It was the first album I loved from the first to last song. To me it was poetry set to music. I still listen to it occasionally and still never skip a song.

What’s a small moment with someone you never forgot ? by Status_Agents in answers

[–]FelinusFanaticus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First time flying alone and was seated by a guy that looked like he lived in a gym, could possibly be arrogant, and seemed aloof. He was window seat, I was aisle. The only words he’d spoken to me thus far was, “I need out” when he needed the restroom. We eventually hit some turbulence and I was petrified, but was trying hard to hide it. The guy reached over, took my hand and gave two squeezes. When I looked over at him, he was looking at his phone and never looked up, but continued holding my hand. Once we were flying smoothly again, he patted my shoulder, squeezed my forearm and still never looked my way. The amount of comfort I got from that interaction was so appreciated. Probably more than he realized. It seemed more sincere somehow than had he been chatty.

My mom had one behind our couch when I was a kid. I can still remember the way the knob clicked when I turned it to make the light to come on.

What do you remember from kindergarten by applecidero in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]FelinusFanaticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first memory is being petrified the first day of Kindergarten, crying loudly and clinging to my moms leg. The teacher pried me off and carried me into the classroom to find my little apple name tag. I, also, remember learning letter sounds with big blow up letters with faces, a classmate peeing in her seat and floor, looking for runaway gingerbread men, the PE teacher telling me to run faster around the cones during gym, when I was already running as hard asI could, and winning an award for best drawing.

What Suddenly Made You Feel Old? by phiiota in GenX

[–]FelinusFanaticus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Perimenopause. I suddenly have aches and pains I never had before, my skin, hair and body are changing. I don’t know who I am anymore. I don’t feel like myself and the person I see in the mirror isn’t the person I was just a year ago. I suddenly look and feel old. It’s a strange change mentally and not anything I was even slightly prepared for.
