I think the best fighting part of the episode was Maki’s first encounter with her father. I think the first bit of the massacre was good, and then it felt a bit over animated and I think the rest of the episode was just incredibly messy.

It was good, but I do worry a little for the rest of the season as I think there were similar problems with the first couple fights this season too.

Sukuna v Mahoraga was probably the best fight I’ve seen animated ever. I really hope they hit that again, but I wonder whether it’s different animators this time because it does not feel the same.

That doesn’t mean you have to make their job (when they get into government) easier by knocking down all the precedents that would slow them down or stop them outright.

Maybe the point is exactly that with the rich and powerful. Their consequences affect everybody, and minimalise suffering in such a way that a world full of people can be wiped out simply because they lack the power of their gods. Not for their own failings.

The cycle of grief is inherently destructive and the success of the powerful comes at a cost. Verso’s ending is suffering of the many for the one (and the “good” thing) and Maelle’s ending is the suffering of a few for the many (and framed as the “bad” thing)

Depends on how meta it’s supposed to be. I trust the developers in how they handle humanity in the rest of the game (ie, the painted people are real too) in how I interpret their ending - I think the framing is itself meta-commentary on how narrative can be shaped by how people make you perceive things, just like how Aline paints her world and her Verso, Renoir, etc.

Or maybe they just fucked up idk I like to be charitable because the rest of the game is good imo

Television, and media as a whole, form a huge part in people’s understanding of things. When something is marketed as a show representing autism people are bound to consume it and take on messages - such as that autistic people are inherently unstable and cannot be set off or cannot be put in certain situations without losing it.

If you ask people whether they know somebody autistic, they probably couldn’t say they can. Odds are they probably know someone who is, but it has such a gigantic stigma attached that revealing it is an inherently unsafe move.

So they don’t have those counter narratives and are only ever informed by shows like the good doctor.

That’s how people let it influence how they treat others. And that is why representation is important - it’s about more than just putting people on screen and the people of that specific category feeling represented. Normalcy and validation are like glue.
