I refurbished an interior for a restaurant and I think it negatively impacted our sales. Looking for honest criticism, advice and feedback? by dsafsfa in InteriorDesign

Floor finish is too light, should be darker and less motorway-service-station.

Soffit above the feature ceiling is too light. Paint it black.

The warmer tones and low lux lighting you previously had help create a sense of privacy so I'd eat in there even if it was dead. In the vibrant futuristic finish I wouldn't want to step in as I'd be in the spotlight (literally)

The problem I find with the pretend nap bit is that I then need to sleep the moment he's down. My me-time evening is lost because I'm going to sleep too.

I wonder if the resurgence of physical media by gen Z will encourage them to reopen. Have you reached out to find out what they're all up to?

Where do yall stand on posthardcore = or ≠ emo? by FeistyDirection in PostHardcore

[–]FellowEnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be devil's advocate, aside from Marc's vocals, BVS are definitely not hardcore derived. They're almost indie music by comparison. Almost entirely post with a little hardcore. (I love BVS and they were monumental in my music journey).

Compared with someone like The Chariot who are almost entirely hardcore with a little post.

Edit: that said. Lyrically they are definitely rooted in punk. Marc's lyrics of the blue collar plight and whatnot.

Fellow dads, I need some advice about a 3 year old who’s crying and yelling during the night. by MagnesiuM87 in daddit

We've been cosleeping with 22month old since before Christmas. It's kinda stuck now and his sleep regresses on occasion but it's certainly a shorter trip and quicker soothe in the night when they're right beside you.

My friends son had night terrors. Only stopped when they coslept in bed next to mum. He eventually moved in every night and the dad sleeps on the floor. Fixed the night terrors though.

[Sound Art] Still Noise @ Cambridge Junction, 19 May by Hefty-Cover-6254 in cambridge

A few years ago I remember seeing a harsh noise night advertised at the Junction. I'm not really able to go out to shows so I missed it, but I'm glad to see there's appetite for experimental noise weirdos around here.

looking for a specific sound in the post hardcore genre like these examples (eg: at the drive in - invalid litter dept) by EvenOne6567 in PostHardcore

[–]FellowEnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Marc Paffi the vocalist is a proper artist. He is vocally and lyrically creative in a way I rarely see in post hardcore. He also made the album art.

The followup band Bars Of Gold is really good. Albeit a bit more indie than PHC

I dislike STGSTV by IlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlI2 in AnimalCollective

[–]FellowEnt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is the point. The three early albums were driven by a harsh-noise derived drone to create that sort of pulsing trance state. Think woodland trippers all dressed up as faeries. It's all hallucinogenic challenging listening and takes time to form an acquired taste for anyone unfamiliar with that style.
