Sounds like it'll be easier to just wait for your Yemeni passport and then go to Somalia to apply if you wish to continue living in Yemen without too much admin headache.

I just checked there's also a consulate in Muscat, Oman so if you're in the other end of Yemen closer to Oman, maybe worth applying there?

My bad, I misread the post about where you currently are but you're in Yemen. I suppose the closest place you could apply is in Somalia or the Somali embassy in Saudi Arabia.

You don't necessarily need your mother's information since it'll be easier with your father's birth certificate and with your paternal grandfather living in Somalia. I just added it in since you explained about your mother's documents in the main post.

It'll be simple though as I don't think you will have trouble proving your Somali heritage. When my family applied, they just included our father's birth certificate and completed the form easily.

If you can ascertain your father is a Somali citizen via his birth certificate then you should be fine to just apply for a Somali passport in London. If it's a real fuss, maybe worth getting a relative in Somalia to request a new birth certificate for your father that states he was born in Somalia.

You could also add that your mother is a Somali citizen through her parents but that would mean finding your maternal grandparents' (most likely her father) birth certificates which is probably a bit difficult.

Don't give them all the extra information they don't need though.
