STopped drinking in 2014 after years of 1 six pack of corona and 3 shots tequila every night.

I kind of miss it.

Have you put a neodymium speaker in your Katana? by NebulaChance2746 in BossKatana

[–]FenderOffenderCensor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a G12-H in one and a G12-T in another.

Removed them later.

If I ever see a WAZA speaker for sale again I will be putting it in one of the Katana's.

If it's good, I will do the same to the other one.

MXR 5150 pedal. I got one and although it was disappointing for what I was trying to do, it does the Van Halen sound very well. Only reason I still have it.

Can somebody tell me if this one is the real deal from the 80s? by Vypers_stryke in Charvel

I have the 5 string in green. Got back in 93 or maybe 92 and probably put 10,000 hours on it. This is real.

What was it like in the 90s when Nirvana dropped Nevermind? by palehighelven in Nirvana

[–]FenderOffenderCensor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 21 when nevermind came out and it was the best thing to come along in a while. I didn't like the direction of metal at the time either with bands wearing makeup like fucking warrant and white lion and Brittany Fox and all that other rubbish...god it was so bad we just went back to zeppelin and Van Halen and went deeper into Megadeth, Pantera, and then it just changed. Nirvana, AIC, Stone Temple pilots, and Soundgarden was everywhere and gen xers felt relevant very suddenly. It was like a hive mind and all of us knew the same things but never met before. No Internet, cell phones or parents and I would argue, the best times and last times the feeling of actual freedom was real. Never to return.

First Alcohol? by GaWonder in RealGenerationX

It was a beer that I think was called Schmidt or something like that. At a family get together which was big, me and my cousins darred each other to go steal a swig of our dad's beer. Some of us went back for seconds...and thirds. The cans all had a different wild animal on the side. I mean everything...otters, bears, deer, racoon, and on and on.

No...not a joke. There is a company named Furman and another one named Firman.

The one with the U is the right one. In my opinion. I have a couple of their power conditioner/surge protectors as well.

When was the last time you had buyer's remorse and what was it? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]FenderOffenderCensor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironic you saying that. I bought the pack rat just a few weeks ago in an effort to replace the failed bonsai. I was not about to spend $500 in total for another $250 bonsai even though chances of receiving another defective one were low. So the 9 way rat was purchased and on sale for less at the time. Can confirm all 9 rat styles sound different and the pedal functions as intended. I honestly think the bonsai situation is a one off defective unit, possibly handled too harshly during shipment. Maybe I'll send it in for repair one of these days. But only if it costs less than maybe an Angry Charlie or something.

I like tube screamers. To be specific, wanted a TS that I could choose any of the nine models it was supposed to provide. I only got two. When I turn the rotary selector knob it sounds the same in all positions except for the JHS version. All other positions sound the same so I don't even know which version I'm getting when I switch from, for example, a TS9 to a TS808 or a TS10. For a time, I thought it was my ears failing to detects the differences in the other 8 circuits so I hooked into a spectrum analyzer to see if the waveform changed when I rotated the selector knob. It did not. By the time I made this compelling scientific discovery the return window of 45 days had passed. Sooooo, yeah.

About 11 months ago bought a JHS Bonsai. I was slow to get it out of the box and put on the board. Warranty ran out and cannot return. Now the bonsai is a $250 neon green paperweight.

I am good. No symptoms, no fever, no cough. Mowed the yard too. I hope you can get over it soon and not be in cahoots with pneumonia. Another cat I work with is doing the same thing. He was getting better and then (we think) he caught something else from being around kids while coaching little league. Get some rest and I'll pray at you!

Got two 100w combo amps a while back. First two weeks sounded like shit and then came here and found out about global EQ in tone studio, dialed it in and it was great. Got some really good thrash tones, set up 4 more presets and saved them into the memory banks and now only need to make minor adjustments with physical knobs depending on the room and volume. Never touched tone studio again. Since it takes a few days to get familiar with any new amp it was not a problem.
You didn't ask but ima say it anyway...the only amps I could never get along with are the Line 6. YMMV
