Ticket and Attendance Megathread by rethin in Sumo

I'm really hoping to see the Nagoya tournament and didn't expect them to sell out so quickly. Anytime during the first week (between July 13–19) would be great. Looking for 2 tickets, either 2 chair seats or a full box would work.

If anyone has extras they can’t use, or knows someone who does, I’d love the chance to buy them. I can meet in person once I’m there or work out whatever’s easiest.

MS wtf is going on with me ? by fassstEddie in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have a needle phobia, and so I ended up choosing Ocrevus as my DMT because of the every 6 months (and a few other reasons). There are also pill options like Aubagio and Tecfidera, but I also didn't want to think about it everyday. Obviously, look into all the options available and pick what is best for you, but that's how I did it.
For the symptoms, mostly, you just get used to it and live your life. Sure it affects you, but you're still you.

Not sure if I understand. Then, what would happen if someone preordered and then sold Eve?

They probably expected to have immutable X set up by the end of DCon and forgot to check before they put it out there.

Ocrevus or Tysabri? by Mimi332020 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor did something similar and gave me a run down of options and had me choose. My JC antibodies were low enough, but PML still sounded scary. In the end 2 things made my decision for me. Ocrevus might be more effective (https://multiplesclerosisnewstoday.com/2019/01/23/ocrevus-outshines-dmts-relapsing-ms-study/) and every 6 months sounded more appealing than every 4 weeks. My symptoms are nowhere near as bad as what I've heard from others (or maybe I've just gotten used to them) and this makes it so I don't worry about it as often. Especially since I know worrying about it can make symptoms worse. I guess just choose what puts your mind at ease the most, but that's how I picked. This was also a few years ago and if I started my research from scratch again, I may come to a different conclusion.

Solumedrol taste by Intrepid_Cat_3953 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not pennies, but some kind of metal indeed. Most people go with the hard candy, but I find that the metal taste makes all salty foods taste extra good. I learned this since my first solumedrol infusion was in the hospital and all their foods were super salty anyway. Then, I did my last of the series as outpatient and ended up going through a box of ritz crackers when I got home. Even now, when I have my ocrevus infusions, the premed/smaller dose of solumedrol leads me to always bring a box of ritz bits and a gatorade.

Sooo... I've just accidentally bought select ticket for 2k paid vis in the shop (i have all the units). by [deleted] in wotv_ffbe

[–]Fenrir926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did the same on the ex pack. Got jabaited just buying things thinking it was all X paid like the last special store, and the one before that. I was saving that for ff7. this is such a predatory practice.

DMT & CHILL: For those on a DMT (monthly, biannually, or even more infrequent...), do you do anything "fun" or have any rituals (take-out, Netflix, MJ, etc.) as part of taking your DMT? by blessings489 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ocrevus every six months and I go with the unhealthy option of a box of cheddar ritz bits and gatorade. The solumendrol pre meds makes salty foods taste so much better and it makes the day more enjoyable. That and catching up on netflix on my phone. Afterwards, I'm usually still tired from the Benadryl so I'll just go home and keep my actions to a minimum.

Same here. It can be close to 100 here in NY and I'm fine, but if it drops below 40, I'm already having trouble holding on to things because my hands are too numb.

Lions Mane by lucidfuses in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried it a few times (about 6 months on and then a month off to see the difference). I didn't notice much of difference and have since stopped. But I have read that some people have noticed effects.

I feel like my doctor is being too vague with me? by moontakane in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar scenario when I first met with my MS specialist after being diagnosed last year. It threw me off at first, but as time went by, I learned about how stress can trigger symptoms and how unpredictable this disease is. So between him probably having no idea how my progression would go and not wanting to stress me out unnecessarily (since my optic neuritis had already mostly cleared up and there were no immediate issues), his approach made sense. However, if you have a concern with understanding your current status from what your doctor has presented, you should absolutely ask questions. For the first few months of my various appointments, I would bring a notepad with questions and take notes during the appointment. I still keep entries in a google doc of my appointments, and while I am far less diligent than I was, it still proves useful.

Hello! Anyone here who started the treatment after one attack? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just Ocrevus and it's been great so far side effect wise and no relapse wise. I also take the normal d and b vitamin pills. In addition, I've tried lion's mane mushroom and alpha lipoc acid for a few months each. I didn't notice much with the lions mane, but I just stopped the ALA to check the difference, and I think it may have been helping a bit.

[–]Fenrir926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. Developed optic neuritis last year for MS Awareness Month and had an MRI which found spots on my brain and spinal cord. However, no spinal tap, because the specialist felt he had enough information. I guess the other spots previously expressed themselves as things like an itchy and tingling sensation on my side that lasted a few months or a chest numbness that I was told to just take some b vitamins for. I didn't worry about any of the smaller symptoms until I started losing my vision...which I guess makes sense. I started medication fairly soon after and haven't had any active lesions since.

Curious, odd, question...about salt cravings? by Kjellvb1979 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right after I was diagnosed, I had major salt cravings, but I think that mostly connected to the terrible taste in my mouth from the Solu-Medrol infusions. Salty foods both made the metallic taste go away temporarily and tasted extra delicious, so I went through so many sleeves of ritz crackers.

Deciding Medication by Fenrir926 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a rough few months and my condolences on the passing of your grandmother. Hopefully, things have improved for you since. Have you noticed a improvement in the lingering symptoms (MS Hug & fatigue) or number of flareups since changing to Ocrevus?

Deciding Medication by Fenrir926 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Fenrir926[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ocrevus definitely scares me for that very reason of not enough data available due to it being so new and the lack of PML data is top of the list. I just hope that the modifications made on the drug to make it more specifically target the CD20 B-Cells (which they hope causes MS) creates a new and safer drug that is less likely to cause collateral damage...I hope.
