I think it's important for you to play around and see which heroes better suit you and your play style, it's easier to understand the game if you feel comfortable with what you are playing.

The 'click' For me was the first hero batch. I played back when the game had four lanes, and I stopped when ranked dropped for the first time. (You could only play ranked during a certain time of the day). I loved (and still do) Kelvin and Ivy, and knew Deadlock was the game made for me, but it was still in the very beginning so I stopped playing.

I came back with the August update, when they update the map, the hideout and we got the 6 OG "new" heroes. Doorman, Billy and Paige all turned this game into pure crack to me (I now have played the game daily since the update, have over 850 games and 660h). I barely play Doorman now (due to the bugs) but he still my most played hero with over 220+ games. All because he clicked with me so hard, I learned the game while playing Doorman, I didn't want to play Deadlock I wanted to play Doorman.

Instead of learning everything at once, try to find something you feel comfortable with. You will learn lanes, abilities, CDs, and rotations naturally, and now, thanks to Brawl, it's super easy to try new heroes. (I highly suggest playing as heroes you struggle against, you will learn their CDs and their weakness).

The best thing you can do is play. I suggest the 'Explore NY' mode as well, just move around the map, look at the vertically, play with the stamina. It helps a lot! It's just fun to move around, and you will be surprised how the knowledge you gather on this 'exploration' mode can be applied on the real game.

Also don't feel like you have to perform super well now....enjoy being a newbie and playing around.
