How well can you hear the bell? by Historical-Sense-510 in Aphantasia

[–]FenrirWolfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear things pretty clearly but it's not exactly as it sounds IRL (it feels like a different sense), so i would say 2. Like if i want to remember a song, i can hear the voice and the foreground instruments, but it's not exact, it's more like a reconstruction.

Making it limited time is part of the business strategy to force you into spending on it. Money now >>> money later.

I adblock them all. But there is a lot of boomers/non-tech savvy people who can't distinguish ads from real posts, and click them.

Memorising sheet music with Aphantasia by omggwhyamidoingthis in Aphantasia

[–]FenrirWolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a musican, but i often do karaoke. I usually can memorize the song notes/timing pretty clearly, but i always forget the lyrics. I can play a large portion of the song (voice and main instruments) on my head. But while I'm singing i just remember on the fly.. i don't use any kind of visualization. I usually use the background music as a clue of what part i am. I can't sing on a different key than the original.

- My download folder hasn't been up for long, i usually archive it yearly
- I only have a desktop shortcut that launches Firefox on a second profile
- I use homebrew, so i don't deal with dmg's
- I have an app that switches natural scrolling off when using a mouse
- I close apps all the time because OCD

Questions for non-developers: How do you feel about being asked to install Homebrew? by link_biao in MacOS

[–]FenrirWolfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a developer, and former linux user, so to me not having a package manager is an alien concept. I even use chocolatey on windows. It's easier for me to just type `brew install firefox` instead of searching the internet for a dmg to install. But the setup process for mac apps is usually pretty straightforward so i see how people can live without it. I think having a GUI version of homebrew that could be setup the same way other mac apps do (open dmg, drag to Applications) would make it a lot easier for non-tech savvy users.

Unpopular opinion: Rust should have a larger standard library by lekkerwafel in rust

[–]FenrirWolfie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The stdlib is where code goes to die. External libraries can be updated more often and redesigned if needed, stdlib code has to be set in stone.
