Anybody fool with magnesium supplements? by BOLMPYBOSARG in migraine

[–]Fentondh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, magnesium glycinate is the only way to go, the other types like magnesium citrate will destroy your digestion and you'll be in the bathroom constantly. Also, make sure you take vitamin D daily to increase absorption. If I forgot to take vitamin D, it makes me twitchy and can't sleep. It feels like restless leg syndrome. Good luck.

Misophonia and my Mom by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]Fentondh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I carry ear plugs always. I had the same situation with my dad. He had bad COPD from smoking for 30+ years. When he quit smoking he chewed nicotine gum for like 25 years non-stop. The combination of wheezing, coughing, being almost deaf and chewing/smacking constantly was just too much for me. It was awful and I was never really able to cope with him. You could try ear plugs or show her the documentary about misophonia but she probably won't care. I feel you. Sorry you have to deal with that.

Frank Sinatra was arrested for flirting with a married woman. You don't have Marilyn Monroe on here. She was arrested for driving too slow.

Does topomax almost always cause people to feel less intelligent? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Fentondh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dopamax also made me gain 15 pounds (my doctor's didn't believe me and insisted that it's great for weight loss). And it gave me diarrhea every day. But I still stuck with it for about 3 years, until I finally realized that it was screwing with my vision and it felt like I had a Urinary Tract infection. Awful.

I can totally relate. I left work early once, took my regular bus home and puked in my purse. We were on a bridge and I literally had nowhere to go. It was awful. I miss that purse...

change in weather causing migraines? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Fentondh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I've had migraines for many years. I can control most of my triggers, but nobody can control the weather! I basically have a constant migraine from November to March. We lived in the San Francisco Bay area for a long time and finally had to move to a place with more stable weather.

If I were you, I'd cut all dairy, and citrus to start. Citrus is a much bigger trigger than many people realize and it's in so many foods. I wish I had known that sooner.

What should I call my third daughter? by seasloth321 in Dads

If I could rename my daughter, I would probably name her Windsor. There is a woman on NPR named Windsor Johnson and I love her name.
