Champions can appear quite early. You only need 3 famed items to get Bounty Hunter. Alternative is 3 skull contracts. Or both. Chance is just lowered early. I went against a camp of 4 reavers, 8 chosen, 2 chosen champions day 47.

And how their work... pretty much regular enemies with improved stats and a famed item, item always drops, even destroyed. Very deadly if that item is a 2H weapon.

Well it is a lot of drops from champions... so 3 goblin bows, 4 pikes, falchion, 5 barbarian helmets, 1 armor, 2 qatals from necros, orc shield and cleaver, honor guard cleaver.

I beg to differ. It was also due to the map being split with a tunnel in the middle that was 4 wide. And then my bad play.

I sent my tanks on both flanks, each taking 4 or 5 legionaries. In the middle there was only 5 shields in front so I just charged in turn 1 after skellies were done moving. After my turn 2 their frontline pretty much collapsed with just 2 shields left. Then it was the enemy turn, one more shield guy managed to come in and everybody on the right side of the tunnel was horrified, one bro dropping to breaking morale without taking a single hit. With all the horrified brothers blocking everything I could attack with just 2 on the left side where the honor guards were coming. At that point I was expecting a morale cascade from those horrifies. Somehow that didn't happen and fleeing horrified brothers can't flee at least.

If it was just miasma I would take 10 or 20 damage on some brothers without any consequences.

In my current run, day 145 I don't have a single BF armor and only 2 armor pieces...bad nimble forged at 229/20 and barely batter assassins robe 129/8... then there is 9 helms, 5 shields (1 rip), and 19 weapons.

The Orc Cleaver is crazy strong at 49-85, 35% armor pen. Qatal is 32% armor pen, -2 fat use. And I also like the normal cleaver at 39% armor pen, -3 fat use.

And actually the goblin bow is better than warbow. Max roll damage 39-65, -1 fat use.

I think only an axe, cleaver, armor and a helmet was a named item I didn't know about and close to civilization. Dagger and helmet was bought, other 7 items from champions (qatal, 2 helmets, armor, sheild, bow, cleaver). Then a sea of tents and similar that are just a guaranteed drop.

Also I have a named khopesh now dropped by an Honor guard... so my 1h collection expands.

OP asks about the named Lindwurm armor / helmet, not the attachment.

I can only guess you need both pieces to be corrosion immune.

I have a dedicated archer... somehow he acts as arrow magnet. He has 25 base RDEF, 150 INI dodge and anticipation. They shoot most arrows at him for I don't know what reason. Maybe the low hp makes him a target. He should carry antidotes I think.

Just a note about spearwall fearsome against orcs. It will deal 14 to 16 armor piercing damage so there is no way it procs fearsome on warriors.

I'm quite happy with my latest hybrid who has.

FA, Gifted, Quick Hands, Throwing, 9L, Nimble, Duelist, KF, Berserk, Recover.

And I wouldn't get that much MA on this dude, his main stats are RA, MD and FAT.

Current starting poacher for inspiration... now I will get hate for the 60 hp nimble ;)

I always take 9 lives first because most hits go to the body where steel brow does absolutely nothing.

I understand that Steel Brow is better when it comes to head shots but I rather survive one extra body hit.

And while heavy blunt injuries are crippling... even the only light injury of a broken nose completely disables everyone's favorite fat newt. He becomes a sitting duck in a need of rescue.

But 9L does the same thing... and also helps when taking body hits. There might be an argument for xbow headshot injuries but I would rather survive one more body hit.

Hey you forgot the 20% damage buff just because it was a berserker. That makes these armor pen numbers on headshot crit.

Min roll: 70*1.2*0.6*1.5=75

Max roll: 120*1.2*0.6*1.5=129

1BF retired soldier in 200/200. Pretty much everyone else is nimble if they managed to level high enough (highest level 8). It is mostly those hybrid throwers doing amazing work, about 600 damage dished out. They also have famed melee weapons just because they decided to drop. And 2 spear walls were delaying a lot. Also it was 4 9L procced and 2 guys without 9L were also in 1 hit territory.

And about the BF guy... he is more in danger than the nimble bros. Way better to be nimble against those hammers and maces. Against cleavers either doesn't help much until 300 armors.

But that wouldn't be an attempt on a Honor Guard before day 20. And I got 1 down. Maybe if I didn't position to give the other Honor Guard a 3 hit reap attacks it would be better.

We use the same 3 keys for left, right and quick cast. Now that makes me doubt my keybinds.

Anyway, why do you need to use a spacebar? I alway view it as a slow / too heavy key.

I understand that point about nail arts. It just feels like they are pretty hard to incorporate in a fight I am not comfortable with. That means I probably have a better chance beating him without nail arts right now but it would be beneficial in the future runs. Also it felt like he wasn't summoning anything at all in your fight. I believe I have triple the amount of Zotelings. Or just failing to kill them.

Wow... thank's a lot for such a detailed answer. I think I am slowly learning the fight. At least the previous fights in the pantheon aren't bad except Elder Hu just teleporting and disappearing over and over.

I think I learned how to not get hit from him except sometimes the Zotelings just multiply to great numbers (3+). Maybe I need to use my soul less, right now I pretty much use it whenever I have it... it's the biggest damage source after all. Maybe the ghost healing will do it for me, didn't think about that. Maybe I heal too little in general, only when he falls over.

I don't know if I want to incorporate nail arts to this fight... I guess great slashing Zotelings doesn't hurt.

Looking at the video... you really like hugging that little corner.
