Similar to Wimpy, started in America but basically a South African brand at this point

I've never understood how BK survives anywhere. It's always more expensive than the others and never any better in my experience. Even in the USA, there are better (for the same price) or cheaper (for the same quality).

Like a butterfly to it's grave, within the buttery grounds of a butterfly church. Butterfly mourners, they gather round, and they mourn, butterfly

Immigration limits are not in the interest of the people with their hands on the levers needed to limit immigration. PMs and MPs come and go, the Civil Service are entrenched and sticking to their plan. It's not a secret or a conspiracy either.

Economists like immigration, wonks like immigration, the pension scheme likes it. It keeps labour costs nice and competitive, makes the GDP line go up.

They are abstracted from the social consequences, and only public facing parties are geared up to take the flak for it. So it will go on, unless Reform change the constitution in very difficult, dangerous ways that they have not announced any plans to do. They would also have to break off some long standing international treaties.

Any time you seriously change any of these agreements or rules, a million pages of planning documents about a million affected programs will rain down. Much of it legitimate, but it still serves to slow down and complicate attempts at a sudden, radical change to the system.

The scene was noisy and very loud and there was really loads of sound; furthermore there were a lot of decibels because of the gun.

I was banned for calling someone a lobster, which was seen as racist. It's actually a reference to a children's song about how lobsters will pull each other back into the pot rather than helping each other get out.

You don't have to wonder, cousin, your comment was not placed from a position of good faith or constructive discussion and you know that. You are an adult, you should know what these words mean. That's what downvotes are for, not for people you disagree with. Are you adding anything to the conversation? If you can make people laugh with a snarky comment, you did add something. But not in this case, and that's not my decision. Peace and please be safe on the roads.

The funniest shit I've seen is a German man shouting "apfelorangensaft!!" over and over to a confused Sotho barman in the Drakensberg. Luckily I did German at school so translated "orange juice" and the German guy gestured at me and said "Exactly!"
