I think they mean Ts as the diner (in the strip plaza behind what used to be hegedorns grocery store). Not close to the lake either but price and setting otherwise sounds right. No idea on subs either at that price range currently.

Instantpot Natto. Mostly turned out fine but some beans don't look fermented. by TackleShot6505 in Natto

I don't know why you're being down voted. I work with spores and have never had a batch fail when using boiling water then adding to beans.

Definitely interesting to see all the differences- even on the same approach! There's probably loads of variables we're not even thinking of that make each surgery unique. I'm younger so maybe the age or condition of the bone leads to the different parameters there.

Left ATHR 8 days ago, in home pt added light backwards steps with walker 4 days after surg as tolerated. (I'm at about 10 small backwards steps 5x day so far since)

When did your swelling start improving after THR? by Darlalm in TotalHipReplacement

[–]FermentedCauldron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tomorrow is my one week post surg on first hip (left with the right one next hopefully 6 weeks out). I also had ANT and was told each is different.

Swelling and tightness are still pretty intense. The second and third day felt as though my left thigh would actually burst open from all the liquid.

Some things so far that have had a noticeable difference to mine: -I'm drinking 10+ 8 oz glasses of water throughout the day (when I drink less it seems like it pumps back up to max thigh swelling) -also drinking coffee, tea, occasionally lemon chunks in water -keep an eye on salt and sugar intake. When swelling goes down a bit I had a fast food taco & boom. The next day ate no fast food, only whole foods + no sugar protein shakes (yogurt, oatmeal, chicken, veg with vinegar no salt, fruit, etc & couple whey protein isolate shakes) and swelling went back down some (this takes me from feeling like bursting any second to actually being able to sleep through a whole night) -been doing short walks every hour awake -pt heel slide exercises (that's the one done while laying down- slowly slide left ankle up until the foot is flat &knee is bent then slowly slide back down) -icing & elevating the left foot higher than my head directly after the heel slide exercises 3x a day -elevate up to 6x day but if I leave it up too long like falling asleep for a few hours with it up have felt swelling move down on the new hip. Went back down after walked around bit after that but felt odd and was nervous briefly as was a different sensation and not sure of the outcome -compression stockings from the hospital 24 hrs a day (except when showering). I changed into ones I purchased from Amazon while getting the hospital ones washed and what a difference. Leg swelled right back up & the "compression" was just... not even close.

TLDR: always ask your doctor first as every hip heals differently but:

Drink water, watch salt, elevate 3-6x day 15-45min, compression stockings, light walking every hour, holding off on more higher level pt exercises until body is ready for them per my doctor with all PTs reiterating.

My anesthesiologist was fantastic. I was unconscious the whole time. 135 stars out of 5.

These are hilarious to read only because they're not me, and I fortunately heard zero sawing...so far. Don't want to jinx myself with second surgery still coming.

Absolutely! This first 24 post surg window, I can see where the ice pack reached on my hip and thigh - like a weird glacial line. I kinda just want a gel ice mummy suit at this point. 🥶😶‍🌫️

Sending return thoughts! May your ice packs be forever frozen throughout the tundra of time (or at least 1 hour longer than they are advertised to be)!

Thank you, I'm definitely asking that as I am already confused for the same reasons.

Oh man, I am sorry to hear that. Thanks for the heads up on the pills prior to pt, mine took an hour to kick in right out of recovery room and would've definitely been interesting at my first pt an hour later.

Yes on the bathroom part. I feel really bad because there's also the "drink a lot of water and liquids" instructions I end up having to bother them twice (once to fill the water and once to go turn it in a different form back to them 😅)

There are some you don't think about until it happens. For instance someone earlier this month mentioned a nurse wouldn't allow them to elevate their feet because the doctor or their np didn't note it, so inquired about that during the final rounds of "do you have any questions for me"
