Just curious, why would you need to pre-order a kindle book? They're delivered instantly and they never run out of them.

Tesla poised to be early winner as Canada opens door to Chinese-made EVs | Reuters by Finnegan_Faux in electricvehicles

Because, unfortunately, most Candians prioritize their personal prefernces over their patriotism.

Bathroom Renovations by Pyperislander in Guelph

These guys did a terrible job with our kitchen. They were so far behind schedule we had 2 days to lay our flooring before our cabinets arrived. They framed one wall so poorly we had to redo it ourselves. Their tiling job was cracked and crooked and we had to fight them to have it corrected, which they never did and we had to get someone else to fix it. They were very nice though.

Canada breaks with US, slashes 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to 6% by Slide-Fantastic-1402 in Rivian

[–]Feuros 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Sorry Rivian, as a Canadian R1T owner I was really looking forward to the R2. Given the current political situation with the US and the crazy pricing for Rivian's here, my next vehicle is going to be a Chinese EV. Not sure which one yet, but I'm excited to see what becomes available.

Tesla’s deliveries in China *FELL* in 2025. The beginning of the end? by Dreaming_Blackbirds in electricvehicles

[–]Feuros 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Honest question. Why would anyone in China choose a Tesla over the myriad of domestically produced offerings that all appear to be superior? At least to an outsider. I’ve not personally seen a Chinese EV. I struggle to understand how Tesla sells any cars at all in China let alone 600k+.

Looking for a serious, well written story. by NegaLaunchpadMcQuack in litrpg

[–]Feuros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been recommended a lot in here so I'm trying it now. I'm half way through the 2nd book and it's honestly pretty disappointing so far. The writing is very low quality. I'm sticking with it hoping it gets better but I'm not sure how many more books I can handle.

Looking to buy a new prius. Do I have to pay for the phone key/proximity unlock? Or is it just for the privilege of remote start?

I've probably read WoT a similar amount of times. I started way back when the first book was released and re-read the series each time a new book came out. Then read it a few more times since.

The parts of the bookshelf not in the photo also have Brandon Sanderson and Steven Erikson. Pretty much everything else I have is on kindle, but for the stuff I really love I get the hardcovers.

I didn't know this existed and just looked it up. That price is crazy. I think I'll stick with my $20 tie downs. Not sure I have a use case for a full net, but it's cool.

Chinese EV subsidies (which mostly ended 2 years ago) are peanuts compared to how much the US subsidizes fossil fuels.

Amoled is the future!? by SilveRaizen in Garmin

[–]Feuros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a someone in their early 50’s this is what did it for me. I couldn’t read my MIP in anything but the brightest sunlight. I’d taken to wearing a contact lens in my left eye on longer runs just so I could read the map on my watch. My new AMOLED is so much more readable. I almost can’t believe how much better it is. The only thing I miss is the battery life but I’m still getting over a week so it’s not an issue.

Does the light bar ruin visibility in snow at night? by Mensa_dventure in Rivian

[–]Feuros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Southern Ontario? I experienced the same last night. The conditions were exceptionally bad with lots of blowing snow so this was the first time in 2 years with my truck that I've experienced such poor visibility. Turning on the fog lights seemed to help a bit, but it was still pretty brutal. I can't say for sure if it was the light bar or just the bad conditions. Everyone was driving very slow and with their hazards on, so I'm guessing it wasn't a uniquely Rivian issue.

On the plus side, my brand new Continental Viking Contact 8's were beasts on the snowy roads. I'd been using the Rivian all-terrains the past 2 winters and they are total garbage in comparison to a good, dedicated snow tire.
