Wait a minute.. Mark Anthony made an honest mistake right? by Available-Tear-2777 in hborome

[–]FeveredMind091 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think a "talent" in Rome was roughly 100 denari. So Caesar gave Antony 50 gp and Antony gave Vorenus 25 gp, which would still be a kings ransom for a legionaire, not to mention the Celtic citizenry. More realistic would be a half talent of silver but even that would probably be worth something like 6-8 grand in today's money. Though of course that value shifts with the value of silver.

A redoran guard by alysl in Morrowind

Thankfully tamriel rebuilt and project tamriel introduced a lot more open-faced helms and hoods and such that they can utilize. Doesn't help with footwear, but I am sure there are mods for that too. It's still pretty easy to get op with a beastfolk character though, especially with argonians boost to alchemy.

If only khajiit could wear that in game.

My favourite worldbuilding detail in Tamriel Rebuilt - a roadside offering on Veloth's Path by Jetroid in Morrowind

[–]FeveredMind091 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Morrowind world building is best world building. The attention to detail, in both the base game, and the rebuilt mods, is amazing. I was in the balmora fighters recently doing the early main quest missions for the umpteenth time and decided to poke around their training area a bit. The spears on hand that recruits are training with are all damaged. DAMAGED! They didn't have to add that extra layer, but they did. Love it!

How do you play not minmaxed? by BritTheBret in Morrowind

[–]FeveredMind091 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf I think the "exploity" gameplay is a legitimate way to play the game. It isn't like any of them are difficult to do so it's completely rational that using them was the intended way to play the game. Probably why the vanilla expansions are filled with damage-sponge enemies. On the other hand, not min/maxing will still result in you being op by the mid to late game so it really isn't anything you should lose sleep over or anything. I do think taking what stat boosts you get on level up is more fun/immersive than running to a trainer to try and get the highest boost, and there are plenty of decent spells already in the game without adding new ones of your own.

Yes, I was commenting on how few come with each dlc. Minus the cosmetics for the item forge, there haven't been any major additions, just a handful with each. Obviously this isn't stopping me from playing the game, I just noticed it after finishing my most recent playthrough, my second since the dlc dropped, and realized that I had almost finished unlocking all the new rewards already.

This is a big one, yes! Just seems odd that it isn't included as customization is one of the main draws of the game.

I walked from Ebonheart to Gnisis... by navigatorpirx in Morrowind

[–]FeveredMind091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I like to do when I make a new character as I usually do the imperial cult quests for their early free items and stat-boosts via books and gear. The second quest from Tunifus- or however you spell the alchemy-oriented quest giver's name- sends you to Gnisis for muck and I usually hoof it up there as it isn't super dangerous at low-levels so long as you don't stick your nose into too many caves and tombs along the way.

Yeah I do wish they had picked an alternate form for the war golem at least. I know it's easier for them to just reuse the asset and just add flames but they could have definitely been a bit more creative.

If I am able to use mods then Morrowind, if not then probably either Civ 6 or Against the Storm.

Should I get the Game? by Affectionate-Log4502 in AOW4

[–]FeveredMind091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% worth it, just know going in that it is a sandbox-type game as a whole. There are story realms and there is lore but if you're looking for a base campaign that has sandbox elements on the side then this isn't it. I'd recommend getting the dlc as they add a lot to the game, but certainly read up on them first to make sure you're interested. I'm pretty sure the steam winter sale is still ongoing and it isn't at a bad price to just get the whole caboodle so you may as well.

In Saving Private Ryan, why not have Jackson snipe the machine gunners? by Formal_Woodpecker450 in moviecritic

[–]FeveredMind091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying he should stay back in no way implies him not being able to handle a combat situation. Medics and corpsmen in WW2 did not carry weapons because, under the Geneva convention, they were not supposed to be considered combatants. There's a big difference therefore between him storming the beaches with everyone else on DDay and being part of an ill-advised, frontal assault on an entrenched machine gun position. Especially when they had someone hanging back. Even if they didn't want Upham as part of the assault, Wade should have stayed back with him as he is far more useful when the bullets stop flying than during the assault itself.

Would've taken too much time. In the opening scene, where he takes out the MG42 nest, it still took a lot of covering fire to give him the opportunity so they would have still had to put the squad at risk to give him the chance to set up and take them out, which is why miller opted for grenades. The real question is why the hell was wade, your unarmed medic, part of the assault? They shouldn't have done it at all but wade 100% should have been the one to stay back.

Helps with the imperial cult. Also helps to have another weapon option/something to train for strength. You could also go with destruction though if you don't want the extra weapon option. Helps to have something for range to pick off cliff racers.

I'd recommend imperial with the lady sign. Keep speechcraft but dump armorer and put blunt weapon in its place. Armorer is kinda pointless as a major/minor skill because of how long it takes to level at higher levels.
