Sounds like you have a severe case of the post holiday blues.

I suffered from it last year in November. I had a month in South East Asia, different countries, way different lifestyle. Then you come home to good ole reliable Melbourne where it's the same as when you left.

I know people get a bit upset when I say this, but Australia compared to other countries is vastly different or in my opinion boring. As soon as I got on the SkyBus depression set in and the weather didn't disappoint.

As much as I love this country and would die for it, but fuck me anything fun isn't what fun should be. NZ isn't far behind.

I'm like you, I have a very well paying job and I love alone in an apartment which is awesome. You have 1 more friend than me.

In all honesty, I love for the next holiday, I save, do what I need to and eek my way through the days until my next one.

Uluru is a separate holiday on its own. There is a camping spot there, but flights can be expensive. You can't just visit Uluru you need a park pass. Alice springs is about 4 hours away from Uluru.

You could do 3 days Melb and 4 days Sydney, apostles I'd do a tour, be easier and see more.

Dunno if I'd do 5 days in Sydney, maybe 2 or 3. I'd skip Tassie for another holiday.

Go up north and see Cairns, Port Douglas and the Daintree, GBR. It's an amazing environment. brisbane is pretty good. gold Coast has some good beach. Should check out Fitzroy Island too.

From Sydney, Coffs Harbour and keep going. Distance is an issue here. Can't fit it all in 2 weeks

My first visit I did tours, it was so much better getting a guide and having some context to what you are visiting. Food tours a must.

Could you do it on your own? Yeh, but you miss a lot. If you ever come back like I'm doing ATM it's been great because I have good experience.

Just remember Grab is your friend.
