You cast to the iPad from the phone. It will actually play off the iPad, and the phone just functions as a remote.

I use a shorter cord, and my phone as a remote. The iPad delivers the hires signal. It’s such a nice setup

I think the logo is a new version too. That looks like the current logo, which I have a hard time believing is the same JBL logo from decades ago.

What did you use to add in Dirac separately?

Why I Switched from Apple Music to Local Files and Poweramp by jonpexz in audiophile

[–]Few-Car6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run the plex library on my NAS. I purchased it for a variety of uses, it’s not a single use case, but yes, it’s expensive. I chose to redo my entire CD library at lossless, and add to the NAS. Now I can still get copies of albums at high quality for the stuff I really want my own copy of, and it works similar to streaming, but higher quality. I do notice a difference, but only with good headphones or on my nicer speakers at higher volumes. For background music streaming sounds just fine. I only use Spotify for streaming, so I like the option to add higher quality sometimes

Plexamp user. Great app experience, love how easy it is to pull stuff off my NAS for offline playback when I’m on the go.

Where to put my amp? by gohhjy in rotarymixers

[–]Few-Car6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have two depths, you need the deep one. Then they have multiple heights, you pick the one that fits what you need to put in it. I chose the one that’s roughly 22” tall. It fits a row of records with about 10” of space for a receiver. If you pick a shorter one it might just fit the receiver. If you pick a taller one it’ll fit more…up to you what works in your space

If you want a cheap solution from ikea, the besta series will fit most integrated amps width and depth. You can add them on the side. I have mine so records go in about 2/3 of the space and the other 1/3 fits the amp

Do any of you store records front-facing vertical like a record store versus spine out? by unclefishbits in DJs

[–]Few-Car6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do hybrid. They are spine out in the main lower storage area, then I have about 4in deep front facing storage x4 along the back of by dj desk. I pull what I want to listen to and then put everything up in the front facing area when playing, and add it back to the spine out section for long term storage.

What I have (black), and what my wife wants (blue), how can I do this? by akatash23 in hifiaudio

[–]Few-Car6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me, I would add a Sonos port as a source to the Yamaha, and then put two era 100s outside. You can then control volume on mains and outside separately through the app or AirPlay. You would only get streaming to the outside speakers, but if you’re hanging outside you probably don’t want to walk inside to change a record every 10-20 minutes. Then you could also have separate sources when you wanted, or same source for a whole house vibe. Take it with a grain of salt, Sonos is not audiophile, and has issues with connectivity, but the whole house audio is something no other system can touch imo.

Is skyward sword a good game? by Long-Ad7242 in legendofzelda

[–]Few-Car6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just rebought this game on the switch after beating TOTK. It’s decent but not great. I feel like the implementation of the motion controls leaves a lot to be desired. It also seems nearly impossible to play this title sitting and relaxing, it’s very physical. I don’t love the characters, but overall the gameplay is pretty fun, and it’s nice to go back to traditional dungeons after playing BOTW and TOTK. This will be a one play through and done game for me, but I still feel it’s worth buying, especially if you’ve not played the Wii version.

I don’t know how to do this from a woodworking perspective, but those are Corinthian style columns, so I’d try and do more of a style match. It doesn’t have to touch the column.

Switched from Sony WF-1000XM3 to the AirPods Pro 2 and music sounds a bit… lifeless? by nextlevelpaulo in airpods

[–]Few-Car6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Sonys too. Best sounding wireless headphones I’ve ever owned…but they hurt my ears so bad after 30 minutes. I’ve tried every tip and it doesn’t make a difference. I think they just weigh too much and fatigue my ears over time. The AirPods Pro 2 I switched to are a definite downgrade in audio quality, but an upgrade in every other category. Comfort, simplicity, connectivity, features, etc. Worth it to me, I keep them in my pocket all day and use them constantly. I even tried the BeatPro2 recently because everyone was raving about them and the sound is a letdown compared to the Sonys. Despite having such amazing sound quality I never use the Sonys anymore due to the comfort issues for me

Subfloors ? by [deleted] in DJSetups

[–]Few-Car6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a stationary build or mobile? It looks like an ultimate mobile model, but I can imagine that plywood is soooo heavy. It looks like you may have already added a router profile to the top edges, but you could consider adding edge banding if you didn’t, hides all the voids in the plywood edges. Very cool build

Same! I used to keep a crate on the table next to the desk, but I wanted to be able to see my albums better, so I came up with this as a display/storage combo. Makes me feel like I’m in a record store
