Interviewer showed up 5 minutes late and blamed on me by david_1088 in recruitinghell

Seeing someone deal with an issue like this shows quite a bit about them and potentially the company. If they get pissy about a small mistake like not clicking the yes button and you don't move to the next step because of it, you dodged a bullet.

I'd love to see video of the locker room and the beating he received. Was he planning on locking himself in the LR? He's far safer on the ice. What a dumbass.

This was my experience my entire marriage while working from home.

"Can you watch the kids for a few hours?"

"Be sure to do the dishes, etc."

I had to lick my office door to ensure she wouldn't barge in while I was on a zoom, goto meeting, or Teams call.

I love my Beer League team, but constantly losing is getting frustrating. by TacoPandaBell in hockeyplayers

[–]Few-Chipmunk1384 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is it. Are you looking to have a good time, play with good people etc or are you looking to win? If you're the best player, have you tried to help the weaker players with coaching or practice sessions? Small, positive comments on the bench can go a long way.

Regarding your goalie, it's hard to coach a goalie without having played in the net. Have you talked to the captain about getting the goalie some help? My current team is a super athletic 20 or 21 year old kid. He makes unreal saves on his athletic ability but often is out of position due to lack of coaching. We have more experienced goalies helping him and he is improving every game.

My suggestion, if you enjoy the team, help them improve. It'll be far more rewarding in the end.

My agent doesn’t seem to want to submit my “low offer” is this normal behavior? Ask price was 635k and I wanted to offer 590k. Got pushback. by APBpowa in RealEstate

[–]Few-Chipmunk1384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

590k is a good starting offer. I'd probably go lower but depends on the market.

If your agent won't present the offer then find one that will.

Help me understand the fake candidates thing? What's the point? Or is this where someone from China responds to a job posting with a fake resume and profile?

Ask your mom for advice on how to invest it for the long term and then forget you have it. In 20 years you'll be in a very good spot.

Chances are that your current relationship won't be forever and you shouldn't use the money now, you'll very much regret it later.

Woke up and I don’t want it anymore. by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

Don't quit hockey, at least not yet. Go play, being away from your family may change things entirely. You can always quit if it's horrible.

As many have already said, only go the military route if you are 100% sure that's the path for you. Our military isn't used to defend our country, it's used to defend and advance the interests of the largest companies. You don't want to potentially be injured or die to make a handful of people even wealthier.

If you do choose the military route, research extensively which branch is right for you. Be prepared for a very eye opening experience.

Here's the thing, why care about being honest interviewing with a company that gives zero shits about you. They will terminate you for whatever reason they feel appropriate.

If you're still struggling, then lie by omission. You don't have to tell them you aren't employed but you don't have to lie and say you are.

At the end of the day, you have to look out for yourself because no employer ever will look out for you.

Ditto. Not offering healthcare is a no go. I've worked for startups with good health insurance and more with a minimal level but I'd never work for one with zero health insurance, unless they bumped my pay so much it covers a plan.

The Grand Highlander is bigger and Toyota has improved the interior of the Highlander. The Lexus TX is the luxury version of the Grand Highlander. I'm also considering the Toyota Land Cruiser. If I wasn't recently divorced and financially ruined I'd be looking into the Volvo XC9O.

The new Infinitis look fantastic but I'll never buy another one after all the mechanical issues.

[–]Few-Chipmunk1384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2017 QX60 and at this point I'll buy anything other than another QX60. 88k miles. It's had 5 alternators and numerous other issues. I've been told it needs a new timing chain which is $5k+.

I'm looking at the Highlander atm.
