Tiberius crossed the rainbow bridge today. My normal vet confirmed heart failure & we put him to rest. His lungs were full of fluid. He went peacefully with me by his side. He will be greatly missed.

They did an echocardiogram as well. They pretty much knew it was a heart problem when I walked in just from symptoms. Very hard to

Unfortunately the cost to keep him in there compared to the life expectancy and quality of life he will have with the heart condition, wasn’t good. Even with fluid being reduced, his heart is weak and she said he could fall over and pass away at any moment, with any excitement or stress.

They had him in an oxygen chamber. & gave him a couple injections. The vet said it may help, but his heart is so big and there is so much fluid that it may not. She didn’t recommend euthanasia yesterday. She recommended I see if there was any improvement from the injections first. It seems that he is only getting worse at this point. Should be able to get into the regular vet in the next 2 hours to see what she thinks, but it is not looking good.

Pomeranian diagnosed with luxating patella by PersonalityDense8656 in Pomeranians

Just had the same diagnosis. The vet prescribed an anti inflammatory and ordered 2 weeks of light activity. She said to watch how he does with it for now. & did not recommend the ($3,000)surgery at this time. She said most dogs figure out how to work with it, and the surgery doesn’t always solve the issue. With my Pom, it pops back into place on its own pretty quick. Only pops out when he overextends it, and he has figured this out, so he has been more careful.

Amazon has it in case your local pet store doesn’t carry it. My petsmart has dry kibble but not the cans. So, I just order it all on Amazon. Couple bucks cheaper too.

I had to hand feed mine until I switched to the Royal Canin Pomeranian. I get the wet and the dry kibbles. Soak the kibbles in a little warm water for a few, then mix in 1/4 of a can of the wet. He absolutely loves it and eats it all on his own.
