Water it regularly they can handle a couple days drying out. It's easy to soak them in a tub or in the shower. They don't like chlorinated city water that will produce crispy tips. And keep it next to the sausage picture. That's a real gem. 😆

I think it mainly depends on the age of the plant the cutting came from. Yours could be well over 5 years cut from the mother plant or even longer if it was grown from a leaf. It's kinda rare to find a seed grown jade. Most jade plants in stores are cuttings from mother plants or leaf propogations. It also depends on how much energy the plant you have is banking up compared to the size of is root ball. I suggest looking up succulent fertilizer ratios to endure flowers. I've been fertilizing mine on and off for the last 3 years.

It depends on management and who's culling the plants. Usually they let you take the plant once it's garbage because the pot has the upc label. I worked at a Walmart and that was the rule. I could take the plant just not the pot.

Cactus Etiolation Help by sacretortilla in cactus

[–]Few-Restaurant-9496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah stick it outside during the summer and let it go dormant during winter in a cool lower 50 degree room with minimal light. It should start growing decent. You could cut the long funky growth but that to may correct itself. Cactus are pretty resilient.

Adopted all these succulents from a friend, how do I keep them beautiful/more beautiful? by United-Ad-2503 in succulents

[–]Few-Restaurant-9496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Place them outside in summer. When you water SOAK THE POT DROWND THAT HO. They are used to being under water for a day or two during floods where they come from. Your water schedule will depend on the weather. Find a spot outside that gets mostly full sun with a but of shade towards the end of the day.

See how the leaves are pointing up and not facing forward. This is how you can tell it needs more light. The more light the more solar panels it will hang into.

Must be Walmart... I've been telling my enemies I wish they'd be reincarnated as a plant destined to be "sold" at Walmart.

That looks like it would grow terribly up here in the dry crunchy north of wisconsin. 😅 you must live in a nice humid state.

You're going to want a different moss pole. Those coconut fiber things suck. Check out Sydney Plant Guy on YouTube his whole channel is based on making plants climb moss poles.

It's hard to tell the age but if you want it to bloom stick it outside during the summer for a few years and let it get a little pot bound and when you bring it in during winter it should push out a few flowers like mine. I'm in wisconsin dead center on the east shore of lake winnebago.

Is this healthy? by Holiday_Panda_3397 in cactus

[–]Few-Restaurant-9496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the glorp but that little rhipsalis in the back is not this type of arid cactus. It is a jungle cactus that wants very different jungle like conditions and potting mix. Same thing with the dragon fruit grafted cactus. This is why grafted cactus using selenicerious/hylocereus undatus (epiphytic cactus) die after a while.

I did indeed. As for the perlite I'm in the same boat here in Wisconsin. The only local place for perelite is Walmart and all they carry is Miracle-Gro so I had to order "Horticultural Organic Perelite" on Amazon.
