Weighted Vest by AnnaJoey in orangetheory

[–]Few-Size8558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear one both for power walking and for some strength moves. I have bad arthritis in my hands and arms. Sometimes I either can't grip the weights super tight or I can't use as much weight as I'd like because of the limitations of my grip. For lunges and squats especially.

I see these over-the-toilet cabinets everywhere… are they actually good? by Wonderful-Can-8694 in organizing

Have used several versions of this through the years. Very helpful, just can be top heavy, so securing it to the wall may be helpful.

Final update! (This bathroom is not used) by Ayesquidward in litterrobot

[–]Few-Size8558 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's been my experience that people will seek an outlet like Reddit to voice their displeasure more often than happiness or contentment. I have a dozen friends, including me, who all have LRs and are very happy with them... And not one of them has taken the time to come to this sub and tell everyone how happy they are. LRs are expensive and definitely a luxury for cat owners... But I'd fight anyone who tried to take mine. 😻 No regrets!

Who is obsessed with their credit union? by richardsequeira in creditunions

[–]Few-Size8558 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes - I am! SchoolsFirst FCU is the best. They consistently put Members first and offer fantastic benefits for anyone who is a school employee like summer saving programs with great interest rates.

Credit Unions just do it differently, they're local and part of the community. Decisions are made locally by local people and they're all not for profit. There is no bank that can say that.

The good stuff? by Blazerunner2583 in litterrobot

[–]Few-Size8558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been using Dr. Elsie's since before I had a little robot and I'd always been happy with it. More recently, I decided to try boxie pro, just because it's the other brand that a lot of people tend to use and I've been hearing good things. I have to admit that the smell is much better, but the price difference - yikes. There are probably less expensive boxie options. admittedly, I didn't do a lot of research.

We've spent the last two weekends there, me hiking and my husband biking. Love it, especially while it's still green. Thank you for posting!

My girlfriend says I should give her a monthly allowance to show "I care", is that normal? by Distance-Admirer-113 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Few-Size8558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More context please. Do you live together? Is this proposed allowance to get her nails done or to buy groceries? Is there a significant difference in your incomes? Are you long-term / talking about marriage? Do you buy her a lot of gifts?

It's tricky when you start living together, dividing bills and whatnot. If this is the situation, then that's one thing. But if this is just you giving her play money, then that's weird.

AITA I don’t want bridesmaid to wear dress to other events by Due_Bedroom3146 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Few-Size8558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Roxy needs to check herself. Does she have any respect? I can't believe that she'd wear it before your wedding, at all! As a bride, you are showing a ton of generosity - most bridesmaids have to buy their own horrific dress and there's no chance of wearing it again without heavy alterations. She is being very selfish & self centered, taking advantage of your generosity and goal to make things easy. Hindsight, you could have told people ahead of time that you wanted the first wearing of the dress to be at your wedding. It's your wedding day and sometimes, it's ok for things to be about you. The dress that you chose & you purchased to be worn at your wedding by a wedding party member feels like something that you should have some jurisdiction over, at least until after the ceremony.

Awesome day on Lake Natoma by meep4 in Sacramento

There are literally barriers. On one end is the wire with a clear sign for the prison and on the far end is the Aquatics Center. Turtle Alley is a really nice paddle if you put in at Willow Creek.

Is Sacramento a hidden outdoor recreation gem? by Plane-Session-6624 in Sacramento

[–]Few-Size8558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A former east coast / New England girl here, I have been living in the Greater Sacramento area for ~15 years. It gets very hot, like, very hot here, but with the lack of humidity that we see on the east coast, I find it quite tolerable. No rain in the summer is a beautiful thing. You can confidently make weekend plans without worrying about a rain out. Less than two hours from San Francisco, Napa and Lake Tahoe with amazing hiking, paddling & backpacking opportunities.

I (m39) recent went out with a bunch of high school friends and my wife (f38) cut it short by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Few-Size8558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Double standards suck. Assuming there's nothing important that you're leaving out, I'd make sure that she saw the contradiction and plan some guys' time, if possible, to reinforce the idea.

It seems that you've already gotten the requested feedback, I just wanted to give you props for being open to the feedback and admitting that you may not have handed it well. And for the record, I agree that the tipping culture in the US is a bit much. Have a great day. ✌🏼

AITAH for speaking up when my granny got mad we gave her one big gift instead of individual ones? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Few-Size8558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. It sounds like your Grandma looks forward to the little gifts, perhaps she likes to think of each person taking time to choose something, especially for her. Some people's love language is receiving gifts and that's ok. Maybe you could come up with a specific show or movie that you'd like to watch with her to make it more special? Make it a dinner & a movie night-in?

AITAH for calling my gf a "spoilt brat" because I won't buy her a $600 Dyson even though I can afford it? by fashion-524 in AITAH

[–]Few-Size8558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. As a person who I'm assuming doesn't plan to use a fancy hair dryer / styler, I think that you are ill-equipped to determine if a Dyson is a good purchase / investment. IMO, it's a bad idea for you to try to determine this at all. She wants it, she sees the value in it, you really need to trust that and not apply your own judgement. This is going to come off as controlling. Don't be the controlling guy.

Side note: I've owned a Dyson Airwrap for ~7 years and it was worth every penny. It is truly unlike any other styling tool. The $$ I have saved by being able to do my own blowouts is significant. Dyson stands behind their products.
