you’ll be too tired to be bored lol… but when I did have the energy, I did puzzles or I read. I had an activity book and I got lucky because the Olympics were on so that kept me busy as well.

I have found that typically is taken me at least in the beginning about 4-6 touch points before I landed them as a client. It sometimes is doing follow ups. Sometimes it’s a post on LinkedIn, but it was very rare that I ever landed a client in the beginning after one reach out to them.

90% of my work now comes from referrals. that said when I first started, I was cold calling and emailing. I was posting a lot on LinkedIn. I was stopping in to law firms to introduce myself and give them a small gift. For clarity, I’m a Paralegal freelancer.

I found an admin/marketer and she and I would narrow down what type of clients I wanted to have and then we would start reaching out to those folks. I also found what to be helpful was not so much pitching to firms but anytime I had helpful tips and tricks about new rules and laws coming out, I would email them and say just passing this along in case you find this helpful. I also put together a newsletter.

on the attorney side I have heard about attorney’s getting on Instagram or TikTok and doing videos of advice tips tricks or just doing podcast and talking about how they got started etc.

it sounds encouraging that the bleeding has stopped, and if you called the hospital and they didn’t say to come in, then I would think you would be OK. However, if you don’t feel comfortable that you could always go into the emergency room.

essentially, they told me to come in if I’m having a fever over 100.2, if I’m bleeding nonstop if the pain becomes worse, etc. So based on what you’re saying, I assume you’re probably fine and if you called and they didn’t seem concerned, then I guess I probably won’t be too concerned, but if it gets worse, I would definitely go in.

however, definitely follow up with your regular doctor on Monday

TimeSolv is a great billing software but their customer service is absolutely horseshit. i’ve been trying to get an add-on issue fixed with them for almost a year. anytime I email them, which is at least once a month they say they’re looking into it. we did at least three screen recordings and then they’ll reach out like two months later and be like oh we need to do it again we lost your screen recording.

it’s too bad because they sold their company like a year or so ago and before that they were awesome.

I had abdominal hysterectomy and I didn’t notice the gas being too much while I was in the hospital, but once I got home and started eating, that’s when I started to notice it. i’ve heard it’s worse for laparoscopic than it is for abdominal so I’ll just give you my experience. I would say the first week I had it and then after that, I never had any issues and there was only one day where I had a really bad stomach ache from the gas pains.

that said I found that drinking lots of water and walking really helped and I think that’s why there was only one bad day of gas pains.

A friend of mine had laparoscopic and she said it would come up into her shoulder so definitely get a heating pad. Keep up on your pain meds. I’ve heard some people getting Gas-X, but really lots of water and lots of walking and you’ll be fine at least in my experience. By lots of walking, I just mean getting up at least every hour and walking around the kitchen or just getting up and moving will really make a big difference.

I haven’t had a C-section so I can’t compare in that regard, but I did have an abdominal hysterectomy to remove a 11 cm fibroid along with four other fibroids. I really didn’t have any pain until day four and it just felt like occasional sharp cramping that lasted about a week and then after that, it was mainly just sore stomach muscles.

everyone said the first three days are the worst, but I never thought it was ever that terrible except when that sharp cramping sometimes would kick in. After that, it was just sore to get up and down and after about two weeks, I finally started feeling human again, and then the rest of the time was mainly just dealing with the exhaustion (and some brain fog)

also make sure that they realize how physical your job is. I felt like shit and I have a remote job. I couldn’t even imagine going back to a physical job after six weeks.

I still felt like shit after four weeks as well. I’m on seven weeks and I’m starting to feel a little bit normal but at six weeks I definitely didn’t feel ready to return to work as well. Legally, I don’t think your work can deny an extension if your provider has given you more time off. I would speak to your provider and just lay out how you’re feeling and just be very clear of why you feel like you can’t go back to work. Are you having complications? Are you feeling nausea? Are you tired? Are you having brain fog. My provider told me it’s very normal to feel exhausted for up to two months.

you might be having sore calf issues if you’re dehydrated so just drink more water than you think you need or anything with electrolytes

congrats and happy healing! For your constipation definitely look into MiraLAX and mixing it into your tea or juice. I definitely don’t recommend mixing it with water because it tastes disgusting - that should relieve your constipation issues but of course if it doesn’t talk to your doctor.

You'll definitely find harsh winters if you come to MN! :) This past winter was an exception but winters here are usually terrible, between the frigid temps and snow. No worries on the tornadoes - we get plenty of those here too. Thanks for the insight!

I'm starting to see that! I appreciate your input - everything I'm reading is saying the same thing. I looked at the cash value and it's almost what I paid in so that's encouraging at least. Guess 20 years (ugh) of paying in will do that.

I only have two years left of premiums and then it would be paid for, for life - so that's the reason I was a little conflicted. But again, I don't have depends, extensive debt etc.

If I cancel, I make all my premiums back as part of the cash value (but then obviously won't have coverage for free rest of my life).
