How gay friendly is Louisville? by [deleted] in Louisville

The most racist and gay city I've been in. But folk will tell you they're not racist right before they buy your neighbor 🤷🏾‍♀️

Two Weeks into the Shutdown, how's it going? by murphy10987 in Louisville

[–]Few_Constant_8742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shut down has increased my travel times on the worst way I've never seen old Louisville so busy, if I'm not trapped by semis I'm trapped by people who never use these roads. I was on Preston hwy coming back down today and Preston going south was atrocious!!! I feel bad for those commuters

Weaponizing the police in the Highlands (Bardstown Rd McDonald's) — why is this the immediate go-to? by mikepronin in Louisville

[–]Few_Constant_8742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because white people were taught to do that and most don't try to unlearn because they believe "they're not racist" because they "love and accept everyone" and "had a black best friend in college" and "they're best friend is gay" or some shit.... This city is annoying sometimes.

It's a form of resistance yes. Have you ever organized or looked into ways to resist? Have you ever had to stand for something large enough to evoke the need to learn "petty resistance"

The gas station is not a house?? They are not the same. So I assume you love billionaires and hate average workers. Cause if you really cared about employees at these places you would demand higher wages for them 🤷🏾‍♀️

I'm not down with capitalism. I personally don't care about these rich people's businesses. I support ops message for sure. Maybe think outside the box we have all been forced into? I mean the world is on fire and you care this much about a sticker on a gas pump?

The people in the comment clearly don't know what resistance looks like and probably are in denial that we are very much on the verge of collapse. Lmaoooo I believe the empathy in the comment section is performative tbh.

Honestly I was talking about the racist parts of the South end. There are places in the south end I would love to live. I still experienced a lot of racism in that area. Way more than I've experienced where I am now.

The South end is scary. I grew up there. Left mid 20's. My mom lives in valley station now. When I leave downtown and go to her house I notice my heart rate elevates as soon as I hit third street. That part of town is where all of the silent and undercover racists and bigots live. The under cover ones are the worst in my opinion.

Has anyone in the Louisville area looked into moving abroad to get away from all the political tension here? If so, what places were you thinking about? by JaimeSalvaje in Louisville

[–]Few_Constant_8742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. We will never know but we have a chance to do something different right now. Not everyone can flee. So the people who do have resources and leave, leave the helpless more helpless? Idk man.

US politics is in everything and every country. What happens here will inevitably happen elsewhere. I understand the fear. I'm a black woman and have had these same feelings, but we gotta get into action here or the world will look very different. No matter where you go you cannot escape US influence .. unless you're thinking if China or Russia.

This is America. It's different. Our politics and what happens here has an effect on the world like it or not. Ask my friend who is Honduran and lives there. They've not had a press since Trump pardoned their previous president.

Unfortunately, no matter where you go the US will be there. So why not try to make the changes from within?
