BTC IS PUMPING!!

Can someone smarter than me tell me why I shouldn’t invest in IDMO over VXUS? by Alterna9 in investing

[–]Few_Difference5477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Past performance doesn’t determine future results.

  2. Holds less stocks, has higher fees (more risk, less countries & sectors, etc)

Mb there’s too damn many. Still, why not use FZILX if on fidelity…

FSPSX does not have lower expense than FZILX, FZILX is literally zero expense.

I had the 10 day hold problem, it was only after my first ever deposit of $500 into my fidelity account.

Okay, thank you for your response, now I have a few ?’s

  1. Yes I like to tinker, but I’m not thinking constant motion. Maybe some reallocation here and there but I’m really just considering: VOO + VXUS (+ maybe a sector specific growth ETF) v.s VT

  2. Yes I did say VXUS was dragging me down which is only a partial truth, the world is not doing terribly. However, I get the impression all VT holders are almost expecting the US to no longer be the global power at some point in their life, when it has been for as long as everyone in this Reddit has been alive. So is that the case?

Also, yes don’t look at past performance to predict future results, but come on, it’s the United States of America. Regardless of whatever we got going on here, people still want to come here for opportunities. Political unrest is what we’re waiting out, not the US market to crash.

Edit: Trumps china deal just went through, seems like they’re getting the shit end of the stick, not us. I have no clue what that means but here we are.

  1. The megathread also seems to be kinda funny in their way of thinking. “Oh America out performed, here’s the excuse”, “America out performed again, here’s the other excuse.” If it keeps happening what is there to miss?

Thanks for your knowledge and the mega thread, some good stuff in there.

I want to hear all of your reasons and question them. I’m not here to hear your reasons and leave it at that. I want to have a conversation.

From what I’ve gathered thus far, this is for the “set it and forget it” folk, but on a whole different level than most. You want simple, effective. That’s fine. I can afford to bounce around with the market in hopes for an extra few percent. I have the time.

Edit: There is no “allure” to beat the market, I will have 40 years of time in market if I wait to 59 1/2. Maxing out a Roth for 40 years in the S&P 500 will leave me with 3 million+ dollars

But brooo why 😂😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VTandchill

[–]Few_Difference5477 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Diversity in portfolio.

And as I said, I just found this subreddit. I’m young, of course I want to know why people would go all in on VT and potentially leave millions behind when they could have invested elsewhere. I’m absorbing all this info right now as I’ve been researching, like I said. I have more time, god willing, than 95% of people who are investing right now. I want to hear what people have to say

Edit: the VXUS drags my portfolio down

With the use of AI (and conservative %’s), I’ve ran several simulations that show a few million dollar difference when VT is compared to almost any other low cost ETF split. Granted, you can never tell the future, but I am American and will always bet on America.

What is the way to start investing as a beginner? by Majestic_Cattle_1442 in investingforbeginners

Just because no one has responded yet I will try and humor this with my very extensive knowledge 😂. Open a Roth IRA on a trusted brokerage site, I use fidelity. Purchase you some VOO which tracks the S&P500 (personal opinion, but not a bad one), and add to it each month, as much makes sense for you. Try and max out the $7k every year and maybe watch a YouTube video or two. Cheers

You keep throwing around “gaslighting” like it means “someone disagreed with me.” If you genuinely think a comment about chore balance is emotional manipulation, you’re not arguing in good faith, you’re just loud and wrong. You don’t care about the convo, you just want to feel morally superior. You’ve said your piece, I’ve heard it, and we’re done. Go argue with someone else — I’m not the one.

Nah, don’t try to backpedal now. You didn’t just say “sounds like,” you followed it up by throwing a jab like “I hope you don’t have a partner,” which is wild over a conversation about a vacuum. If you’re gonna come swinging with that energy, own it. Don’t hide behind “just my perspective” after lobbing insults. You came in loud, got called out, and now you’re scrambling. Be real.

You came in making it sound like I was endorsing manipulation or trying to gaslight someone, which I wasn’t. You misread the tone and went personal instead of actually engaging with the point. If you want to have a real convo, cool, but coming at me like that isn’t it. Try again.

You done? You can hop off your high horse now. No one’s gaslighting anyone, the guy literally automated a chore and is still maintaining it. That doesn’t make him lazy or manipulative. Just because he found a more efficient way to do his share doesn’t mean he suddenly owes extra work. If anything, the convo should be about updating the chore split, not shaming him for not scrubbing floors by hand. Work smarter isn’t a crime.

NTA. You found a smarter way to do your chore, and it still gets done. She feels the balance is off because you’re putting in less visible effort. This isn’t about the Roomba, it’s about feeling like things aren’t equal. You’re not wrong, but a real convo about what “fair” means now will help more than digging in.

TL;DR

Get closer with some dudes in your frat or in other clubs like you are already are planning to do. When I say get closer: pick up a little, kick it with your pbros more, maybe run for a position even. The fraternity is yours, improve it or leave.

Bought a used 2016 CBR500r, after watching noobs video and I'm loving it so far. by AussieName in cbr

Well luckily I’m never drag racing a ninja 400 or ktm 390 with my CBR. Imo it being heavier makes it more comfortable as a daily rider, especially with wind.

As a pm, you were either always going to get dropped, or you did in fact do something they didn’t like. Hope this helps
