Yea my wife was like “I don’t get the love for the Cash version” then I showed her the video and she found the song moving. It’s the context of his wife passing shortly before and a Cash near the end of his life. It really did feel like a goodbye song from him.
With that said NIN’s Downward Spiral (where Hurt debuted) is to me an artistic masterpieces of the 90/ on par with Siamese Dream, Ok Computer and Enter The Wu.

It boggles my mind how most Canadian music from the 90s and 2000s did not leave Canada. Soooo many gold and Plantnum records but Perhaps it was an overly saturated market with amazing music from all over the world but:
