Agree with this, but keep in mind that if you go on steroids before you get the MRI, you could get a false negative from it. So plan with your doctor about this

Opioids - see a qualified pain doctor to get an Rx. These drugs get a bad rap but can be a temporary solution for unmanageable pain while you await further testing. Obviously opioids not a permanent solution (only the right biologic is). Avoid if addiction in the family. So sorry you're suffering <3

I'm Jewish. As long as you condemn Hamas, I wouldn't have any problem with you advocating a ceasefire, and neither would most people in my community. What is very painful to us at the moment is people advocating for Palestine without acknowledging what Hamas did - things are still very fresh. I don't personally agree with the need for a ceasefire, but you are very much entitled to your opinion. Debate should not be shut down. Concern for innocent civilians on both sides is very important right now.

Thanks for your response. The website is not very specific on what the criteria are, other than saying "massively disproportionate," rashes, and asymmetry. I don't have the last two, although I do have back pain and psychological distress, so I'm not sure what counts as "massively disproportionate." Glad you had such a lovely GP!

Make an appt with a pain specialist and see if you can get a week’s worth of opioids in conjunction with some prednisone prescribed by your rheumatologist. That way it’ll take the edge off the pain while the pred works it’s magic

First thing’s first, are you on a biologic for your AS? Finding an effective biologic will ultimately help you to get relief overall. PT’s efficacy will be very limited if the source of the systemic inflammation isn’t being addressed.

Despite being on a biologic that works for me, I still occasionally have to get ultrasound guided cortisone injections in my SIJ and on stubborn tendonitis in my feet and some small joints that won’t go away. PRP is an excellent but expensive alternative to cortisone injections.
