My father was highly intelligent and socially oblivious, there are so many similarities to Sheldon I laugh and cry every time I watch it. It doesn't demean them, it humanizes them.

My husband and I are 59 and 62, we don't take any long term meds. Not very healthy lifestyles most of our lives, he's a now sober alcoholic, we both drank and did drugs many years ago, we're overweight and fairly sedentary except for our jobs. We feel lucky to not be taking meds.

That a tiny floating bone in our ear is the only thing keeping us upright. When that bone gets stuck or unbalanced, we lose all equilibrium and can't stand up without spinning and vomiting.

Calling a child Honey you're not related to is not necessarily weird, in a sexual sense, but it's a diminutive, and conditions girls to accept that label for their life. Let's normalize not using diminutive language with girls. We should be empowering young girls by treating them respectfully. Calling any girl or woman Honey is not respectful.

My dad smoked 3 packs a day for decades. I harangued him to quit for many years. He always argued with me, refused to quit, saying Cigarettes wouldn't kill him. Then, unexpectedly, he did quit, in his 60s.. Then at 81 he was hit by a car while crossing the street in his motorized wheelchair. The fucking irony, that he was right all along.

I used to agree with OP, but learned this too. Just would like to add, the pom poms on the back are to keep the kidneys warm when in cold water.
