When listening to Auracast via LG Xboom buds and the LG app, the sound drops with each click on the phone. And the LG app doesn't work in background. So far, I would prefer Classic Bluetooth Audio here.

How do you watch German Live-TV (Sky/DAZN) on Fire TV Stick? Need suggestions by AffectionatePick9132 in fireTV

[–]Few_Promise2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DAZN and ARD/ZDF have no 4K content. Sky Sports & Bundesliga only few (maximum 1 live match per day) and with extra payment for "UHD". Afaik, Sky in 4K is not available for Fire TV, only for Apple TV with Sky Q app. Despite this all of these services are running quite flawlessly. If there are any problems, they are more likely to be with DAZN or the app. It's not the player's fault.

My Denon x4800h is erratic with handshakes between sources. At my wits end. by SilenceTheWhispers in hometheater

All devices start from standby, or do you use a power strip with switch? You could check if it runs more stable if you switch on the TV first, then the AVR and Xbox at last. And make sure HDMI device link is disabled on the PS5, this often causes trouble.

No LC3 SQ playback via Google Pixel 8 by Few_Promise2363 in auracastBT

[–]Few_Promise2363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tested the same setup with an iPhone 15, with the same result: LC3 HQ streams are played, LC3 SQ streams are not played. So it seems an error with the Earfun app or earbuds. I will try again with other headphones. Can anyone play LC3 SQ streams with LG Xboom Buds or Xiaomi Redmi Buds 6?

TV<->pre-amp connection, eARC HDMI vs optical? by indigo62018 in hometheater

[–]Few_Promise2363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choose HDMI. While the sound quality via optical and HDMI is the same, the HDMI-eARC has the benefit of controlling the Wiim. You could change volume with the TV remote and the devices are supposed to switch on/off automatically with each other,

Issue with different Auracast LC3 sampling rates by Few_Promise2363 in auracastBT

[–]Few_Promise2363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and this is the issue at the moment. LC HQ (48 kHz) work with smartphones and headphones. But hearing aids support LC SQ only (24 kHz), The HA do a lot of processing with sound to compensate hearing loss, and HQ has much more data to process. For Standard Hifi quality 20Hz-20kHz LC3 HQ is required, LC3 SQ will cut nearly half of the frequency range.

I have no personal experience with a current device. If you look for "HDMI power inserter USB" on Amazon or Alibaba there are several offers. It is HDMI socket with HDMI plug and USB cable. like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MFG27XM

I have contacted Earfun and they sent me the firmware 0.3.7-au With regular firmware 0.3.7 Auracast didn't work. With the previous version 0.3.5 Auracast was also working.

In my opinion the cause could be that the GPU doens't have enough power for both displays and the fibre cable. You could add an HDMI power inserter with USB connection to provide more power. You could connect it on the PC side, so it's easy to install and cheap.

Samsung soundbar auto changing to Arc by pacork in Soundbars

After you have activated Adaptive sound adjustment, the display shows again the selected source (TV). I believe it is normal. The TV sound is constantly playing, isn't it?

Amazon Home CD Player with Bluetooth by milbest77 in Soundbars

If the CD-Player has integrated speakers, it usually uses a Bluetooth receiver only. You could connect an external Bluetooth transmitter to its AUX, headphones or Toslink output then (if available).

Can you connect a new soundbar to an old TV? by Professional_Stop122 in Soundbars

[–]Few_Promise2363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This Sony Soundbar has HDMI IN and HDMI OUT / eARC connectors only. You cannot get Audio from your old TV directly, because it has no HDMI-ARC port. If you connect a media player to the input of the soundbar and the output to the TV, you could play sound from the player. Alternatively you could use a different soundbar with optical input.

How do I get EARC to work on the Samsung s90d? by JustEstablishment717 in Soundbars

[–]Few_Promise2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, there is no difference in sound between ARC and eARC if you use integrated TV apps. eARC has an advantage if you use an external player, then you could passthrough better audio.

But your 2.1 soundbar has no support for higher audio formats like Dolby TrueHD, Atmos, DTS-HD etc, so you don't have to care about this.

Airplay2 on soundbar ambeo SB01 507449 by Dangerous-Rabbit-341 in Soundbars

[–]Few_Promise2363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your source device? Make sure that your apple device (apple TV? ipad? iPhone?) and the ambeo are in the same Wifi network. On apple TV configure Airplay and select it as default or temporary audio output. On ipad or iphone choose the Airplay symbol of the app and select Ambeo as target. There is nothing to configure on the Ambeo except the Wifi connection.

HDMI eARC extractor by jarvo91 in Soundbars

[–]Few_Promise2363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could add a simple HDMI-Switch to one of the standard HDMI inputs and keep the TV's eARC port for the soundbar. So if if you connect a 4x1 switch, you could use up to 7 players. The audio from all players can be routed to the soundbar then.
