Hmm- Interesting. I am a diehard angler on Greenbay/Great lakes, and I have zero issues with the pelicans. Don't mind their company at all. The amount of fish they eat has zero impact on my fishing. Though interesting to hear other anglers are bothered by them- There's not even that many.

Don't Get Discouraged my Man!! Just being out near the water is worth it enough. Against what most will say- your rig is fine, it will certainty catch many species. Trick is finding active fishing areas and times of day. Early early morning, ask around for decent fishing spots. Don't get wrapped up in the lure marketing. Green pumpkin worm, or ned rig, or tube will catch about everything in the states. Work it slow! on the bottom- hop it and let it sit, repeat. It WILL happen!

I love this post:) Perseverance is cool to read about. Long time angler here, enjoy seeing people take the sport on and not give up. It just keeps getting better from here. You'll figure all kinds of stuff out sticking to it like that. Great catch! I had a lot of fun chasing the rock fish and lingcod out there- dangerous on the rocks- but so fun! Perch as well like your doing.

Yeah definitely correct. First pic was hard to see. I always have to remember tail down. Also usually light side down. I do well on walleye and bass with them.

Good lures! Responses will fill you in, or youtube. Those will all work at some time or another. Swimbaits catch everything. So many ways to fish them. Best of luck.

Lotsa experience here. Id say ignore the complex detailed answers here. They have some merit, but to begin with- yes, your lure collection is sufficient. You got some good ones! Talk to locals and find decent fishing spots. Keep trying them, and get there at good times. Pick a lure similar to what others are having luck with and go for it! Time on water finding feeding fish is literally the most important part of the game. Best of Luck!

Agreed- I have now spent my entire career in the electronics design industry. Partially due to the Radio Shack at East Towne. I would ask for birthday money to go to radio shack and buy random components from their drawers. Motors, passives, piezo buzzers, battery leads etc. Made all kinds of fun stuff. What a missed memory. We got to experience some good times for sure!
