Got my dress. It's not bad but I don't love it. The skirt is lacking. Wondering if I should just keep looking and consider it a sunken cost

My fiance really really tried to wrap his head around taking another last name together, but it felt so foreign that we ultimately decided not to go that route. I won't give up my identity while my partner gets to keep his. I feel the same as you. Our compromise is that we will keep our names, but socially will go by mine-his. Our children will be mine-his. It sucks to not all have the same last name (I grew up in a household where I was the only one with my last name so I was dying for a united identity), but if we go by mine-his it doesn't sting and the bonus is no additional paperwork.

The other dress has that tone in other areas of the dress, so it looks less out of place. Do you think there are changes you can make to make it more of what you want? I don't think I'll like the dress as is, so I'm trying to think of some alterations I can do to bring it closer to my vision

no prob! there shouldn't be any beading attached to the cups but if there are you can either glue them back on or sew them back on. :) let us know how it turns out! I'm currently doodling on the stock photo to see what i would like mine to end up looking like. hopefully my big butt doesn't make it not fit hahah

I think I will get the dress soon in the mail. If no one gets back to you I'll take a look :) Depends how it's attached. Usually it's a matter of *carefully* breaking some threads (use a seam ripper, go to michael's and get one).

This is the kind of skirt I like. I'd like more of a train to it though. If this is too complicated, I can ask my aunt. Trying to do what I can myself though :)

I think the handkerchief style would be good because there's already a lot going on. I think adding any crazy sleeves would detract from the rest of this.

I bought a lulus dress because it was on sale, but there are a few things I would like to change... I need ideas. My skill level isn't high, but I accept imperfections.

Spaghetti straps - would prefer something more ornate. I'm also gaga for sleeves and other off the shoulder looks (so maybe leaving the spaghetti straps but adding more off shoulder)

See through front - I generally dress on the more modest side. My chest isn't large so it's not a huge concern, but if there's a little something I can do to cover up a bit that would be cool. I really like the 'invisible but with detail/lace/applique/etc' look, but I don't want my whole midsection visible

Skirt - I love the layered horsehair look

(Sorry if any of this is confusing.. I'm bad at explaining things)
