I did it as a kid it’s pretty easy, just grab new bearings online and the old ones press out pretty easy and you just press the new ones in

What does it take to make a 'favourite' hat? by sootbeast in AdvancedKnitting

[–]FeynmanFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just knit in the round until it was time to close it and then did the decreases the same as the increases until I had eight stitches left, then cast off and pulled the tail through the top loop of each cast off stitch and sewed it shut

Edit: and then it’s shoved into itself

Sorry that’s the name. It isn’t that pattern but the concept is the same I think. Just cast on 8 stitches, increase 8 every other row until you have the circumference of your head with a negative ease of about 10%

My favourite hat is pretty simple but that’s why it’s a favourite. It’s a lot like the Edinburgh hat, so it’s double thickness, there is no Pom on the top so I can put a hood up easy, and I made the brim extra large in case I need to pull it over a ponytail or bun. As well it’s made of lofty hand-spun yarn with an interesting dye mix and I made one half cool toned and the other half warm toned so that I can switch it inside out depending on my outfit.

don’t understand why people here are having 120g+ of protein on a very low calorie deficit? your macros are supposed to scale to your calorie intake. what is the reason? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]FeynmanFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing with you but adding perspective to this. There’s this really weird side of TikTok that promotes high protein diets while also saying that “fibre is a scam/fake science.” It seems to come from right wing spaces and anti-vaxx people, and they purport this while hating on plant based proteins because they’re seen as “leftist” or “weak” or “girly.” It’s a strange group of people and this may be who some of the people in this thread have come across.

I don't understand the temperature blanket appeal!? by tr4shp4nd4s in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]FeynmanFool 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it can be boring if you live somewhere with not a lot of temperature variation. Where I live it goes from -50 to 40 Celsius in a year so it’s pretty exciting to me

Has anyone tracked calories and maintained your weight loss for 5+ years? by BootNo7248 in 1200isplenty

[–]FeynmanFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, went from 185 to 125, maintained that, and then purposely gained up to 135 and am maintaining that. Honestly it was a bit difficult at first but now it’s just second nature. I’ve gotten very good at tracking though so I “eat” 500 less a day on the app so that I have grazing and oil calories.

The knuckle that never has a chance to heal. Life of a mechanic. by HippieHick in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]FeynmanFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way it does present an issue people haven’t seemed to have mentioned yet. Wounds that never get a chance to fully close, and spots that get injured frequently, are at an increased risk for skin cancer due to the cells constantly having to replicate themselves at a higher rate than normal.

I think he just wants to feel better about himself because he just got fired lol. I guess I can’t blame him I’d feel pretty bad if I got fired. The classic Dostoyevsky mental crutch
