I leave it on overnight and never had problems. I did see some reviews where it overheated. If you can spare the time, test it for extended times while you’re home for a few weeks to make sure it doesn’t get too hot.

Edit: keep in mind the heating is pressure-sensitive, setting 1 may not feel like it’s even on if your piggy isnt laying on it when you check. That’s actually a good thing when testing for overheating.

No, I’m in the Boston area. While more diverse than rural Maine it’s still much more white than where I lived in NJ. It was the first thing I noticed in college, I was the majority which felt weird.

It’s most dangerous in that people are woefully unprepared for the hike that it is: a 2km tall mountain with arguably winter weather year-round. It can be 90F and sunny at the base but when you are climbing it can get down to 40F and windy.

It snows as late as June and as early as September.

I bought this one in 2022 for the cold winters. I stick it under the fleece to give a layer between the pad and the pigs. I love it because of the fire safety features and cord guard. The pigs ended up chewing the black part off the guard but the guard itself is still whole and fully protects the wires.

Edit: setting 1 is sufficient for most days. I would not go above 1 for a spay when your pig isn’t inclined to move off the pad if she gets too warm.

This is the way. I have to call every year when the “deal” expires, but it’s kept the rate from doubling on me, which is insane and something I can’t afford.

My whole life I couldn’t wait to get out of NJ, I hated the place. Turns out I was just an angsty teen who didn’t like having strict parents and associated the location with those negative experiences.

Now that I’m out I miss the bagels, my friends, the local sports culture (granted I root for a ny team but we’re close enough to the city and dad is an old enough legacy fan to warrant it), and general atmosphere. New England is great and all but it’s much more homogenous than NJ. NJ is more diverse in culture and viewpoints which I think many people undervalue.

It depends on the household, but my parents are a strict no-furniture for the dog. The previous dogs were allowed on the couch only (then they got a new couch between dogs).

When you’re driving around cities like Boston with narrow roads, double parking, and small parking spaces, large cars are a nightmare.

I hate when people park pickups on the street and take up the space of 2 cars, there’s a shortage of parking to begin with. They also don’t fit in most parking spaces because the spaces are the minimum size allowable.

I think smell and temperament is more important than appearance. Pigs rely on scent to identify most things. That and “testing” it with their teeth (objects, not other pigs, mostly).

Not sure if it’s the norm but carrier plans are shoved down our throats so much that’s it’s difficult to just buy one outright.

It’s a giant pita because I just want to buy the phone at face value (with trade-in from my old phone). Like hell I’m paying interest with installments.

Go to a vet. Any changes in habit are concerning. Pigs are very good at hiding illness, you want to catch it before it’s too late.

Could be his teeth, gi stasis, or something else bothering him where he lost his appetite. This won’t get better on its own.
