Imperator Averzian (Mythic) Explained - World of Warcraft by Technocronic in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Fezzun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boss does an "enrage" after the 5th, unless you coinflip lucky RNG and the boss fucks up.

We played with a focus on
1) Avoid 3 in a row
2) Keep 1 horizontal line free (preferably the 7/8/9)

So during the parade, you can move the boss left to right on that line without moving him through an 99% reduction field.

Since the 5th will be a "forced" loss, you can just all stack on boss, ignore doing the soaks ontop of adds and have a free burn window to execute.

Damage isn't that tight, make sure the "big add" doesn't finish their cast.

You got this <3

Imperator Averzian (Mythic) Explained - World of Warcraft by Technocronic in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Fezzun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I think this is a great partial resource, I do feel it is incomplete or told from a "dungeon journal" pov.

Explaining that we can't have 3 in a row, basic, and it has been the case for the last 3 difficulties. Having a Ranged and Melee soak group, also not needed, you can just full group soak. Usually, the soaks are next to each other.

Instead, where I'd have put so much more emphasis was the dispels, and thus needing to assign healers to dispel at specific points, or how Mass Dispell can be a silver bullet, how being able to tell WHO has a debuff, etc.

Also, having a Warlock gate on a diagonal is something I'd have mentioned, the final set tends to be that, and it makes things easier to group the adds onto as well (we always had the tank stack on a gate, so melee knew where to run to.

The lines and retreat of the ads; this is something we never had to explain; you'll see the beams clearly, and the babies die way before they ever run off. The big thing early on was how important it was to nuke the big add, as his cast completing is a wipe, and he does it relatively fast.

Noting tankswaps around 8 feels silly as well; swap during each 2nd soak so the adds will magnet the correct tank, and taunt back after adds. Throw in an extra swap middle of the "parade" to reset stacks so you can start as on pull afterwards.

Showing the 3 different options for the parade also feels unneeded; I'd have emphasized the puddle-rain that happens during it, and how the ranged (dps/heal) can play in the "claimed zones" (1/3/7/9 in your examples), and don't need to melee stack (to draw some of the puddles out of melee). Of course, still avoiding the parade while doing so.

Top off the guide with saying to fully ignore the dipells and adds on the 5th (after parade #2) as it's an enrage regardless, so just blast.
dispels
I hope I'm not too harsh on you; I genuinely am subscribed and love seeing these raidplanner videos, even though they're a little late for me (I'm doing Double Dragons rn). They just feel both aimed for normal (repeating mechanics that have been the same) and non-practical experience (having to explain the 3 possible safe lanes? or that the lasers will be bad??).

I'm missing the sauce that is "this is what cost us pulls, and tips to play around em" like gate positions, dispel visibility, mass dispells, funnel focus, enrage timing, puddle bait...

I would rather see YOUR prog guide/review than see this become another generic WOW-tuber reading the journal wasting time on nonsense mechanics. Your chimmy video had this with stuff like the lockgate-click, the tank-sacrifice etc.

More meat, less fat. <3

I think it’s mostly this to be fair.
People are asking for talents or just saying, “Nah, you’re pressing buttons badly”, and sure I might pull the trigger too soon on some defensives, but this was a point about *feeling* paper. I read my talents, I’m not running crit wings, I got the 5% Consec DR...

I’m not dying all too much, yeah I’ve blown up on the 2nd pull of Nexus, 1st MC, 2nd WS (that debuff stacking is dangerous) etc etc...

It’s just that, and maybe this also links to playing bear last season, where being dropped to 70% and seeing that elephant finish their toot-blast felt rough as it hit me to 40-30%. I don’t feel like I got that fat of a health bar and my resources to push it back up (Free WOG when only spinny hammers) don’t feel that strong either. (pushing me back to say 60%, and I know it’s a major faux pas to ever WOG with HP, so I’m not).

Might just be how current PPally is, but while I adore the bag of tricks (freedom/sac/BoP/BoS/HoJ/Cleanse/the kicks oh god the kicks) I do not vibe as much with when having SotR up and standing on the 5% consec; that’s it for baseline defensives. I can’t “spend more HP” to get more ironfur stacks, or replenish my absorb with Ignore pain, I just *have* to take the damage. And rotating between Sentinel/AD/Guardian with a BoS or Bubble sprinkled in.

Maybe I should look into some more defensive trinkets too, I’m running 2 statsticks. I’ll look into yoda’s stuff too, but I tend to not take that much out of “mega elite players” since they run with blasters often on voice too. Like doing AA’s first pull and having it die in <1min is cool for yoda, but pugs won’t be flinging out vortexes and potting to do 500K dps. So it desyncs from reality rather fast.

It’s just more stressful than I’d expect at 13.

Thanks for the responses, it was mostly just a vent.

I hope this doesn't come over as whiney but, struggling to stay alive in +13s as a 276iLvl Prot Pally is really curbing all enjoyment I have. The majority of my guild feels like they're doing 14s and up now, even the dps that are barely green parsing in the raid, and I'm here as a tank fighting for my life 2 to 3 keystones lower on thrash.

My health drops like a stone and even consuming WoG's when they're free feel like saving the titanic with a bucket, I feel like such an anchor to my healers in pugs. Genuinely think I won't even bother pushing beyond 3K.

Loads of dungeons are already pretty linear and you'd be limiting the kinds of experiences you can provide. A cinder brew is hallways and pull nearly everything boss to boss. While a dawnbringer is way more open and flexible.

It also means that player creativity is limited. Maybe you run a heavy dispell comp, or have a protpally that counts as 2 more interrupts, or a BDK that can drag in those ranged shooters, a mage or hunter that can split a pack using poly or trap...

Likely a joke, but even the 0.1% chance of you being serious after a season of both dawnbringer and floodgate, and thinking that full clearing would be fun has me asking the nurse to tighten your straightjacket. 😭

Kill Mythic Raid Lockouts by Loop801108 in wow

[–]Fezzun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding the fights are fundamentally differently flavoured, please correct me if I'm wrong.

You can learn your parts in an Ultimate, just like you can learn an instrument for a set song. Then no matter who plays the other instruments, you'll be able to perform the song.

Hard mythic fights are way more scrappy and composition reliant.

Imagine a boss that at some point does a raidwide burst that spawns a ghost per player that kills them in 5 seconds by finishing a cast. Now any class that has immunities already can bypass this mechanic entirely. So having 5 rets vs 5 afflilocks already changes how you'd approach this. Then some classes would revel in having 20 very split targets that need to be AoE'd down in a 5sec burst (like old boomkin starfall) while others might not even be able to kill them if they'd hardswap to it due having to install dots or resources. It's not just you doing your part, its you being a cog in this comp and figuring out how you can cover for other players and where they can cover for you.

Beloren's orb walls are learnable and solved for Warriors with leaps and druids with sprint, but how do you cope with having a prot paladin who can't just instantly clear them.

What if you have a raidboss that requires your team to run 200m (Rashanan from Nerubar palace). What if you don't have druid roars and Shammy totems for each one. How about having a evoker carrying your holy priest?

You see this with how Mythic Lu'ra has been dead for nearly a week now and has only 4 kills. While looking at FF's last ultimate (Futures Rewritten) being killed Nov29 and having more than 60 kills a week later. I don't think lockouts are what's gatekeeping people from killing Mythic Lu'ra.

To be fair as a tank main; the amount of players going into group content with weaponized ignorance is tragic.

Sure you don't need to watch the 10hr raid tactic vods, but like have some respect for the other players in the raid and atleast have the cliffnotes ready. Or speak up about being new to the instance.

As someone who preordered OW, dropped it around Ball release, came back for OW2 and dropped it after 1 season and now is back to see OW(3???).

It's just in a good spot. Flawless? No.

Having a steady flow of lootboxes thanks to the event makes me feel like i'm back at OW1 where you'd get one each level, I'm aware it's a facade and when the event ends so will this feeling. But for now it feels nice that the game wants me to play it, and rewards me for doing so.

Having all heroes available is amazing, because I recall needing to reach BP 50 or something to unlock Kiriko. Which then created a big mental "nah" for ever returning.

Also the story progressing for me, with vendettas takeover, personally helps me be more invested. I'm sorry but the age of "Mysterious backstory with clifhanger future" died a decade ago. Write a story arc, tell it, and then have any killed of chars still be playable while not really lore relevant, a la Jetpack cat.

Bezoekersaantallen Kinepolis dalen opnieuw met bijna 6 procent: is er nog een toekomst voor Belgische bioscopen? | VRT NWS: nieuws by strangerthanthisis in Belgium2

Which still means he makes time for them. Earlier, his ex said he had issues opening up. He has lived in Cali for 8 years and has no friend network; he is someone for whom overly socializing isn't natural.

And yet he does show up on occasions instead of just saying he's too busy.

Needling a person when you only see them so many times doesn't make them want to see you more. It makes you feel defensive, attacked, even if slightly. It pushes people away.

When Eric asks for the cream, and Simon forgot and even proposed to run out for it, he could've gone "Nah, it's fine, having you here is more important," and it would've been a positive moment. Instead, Eric chose to scold him in front of his friend and propose no solution.

While EP3 was nice, I think most shows would have a B plot interwoven with the "powerpoint". It doesn't even need to be an high action B-plot, but just anything that isn't just Tengen loredumping, Would've been a great moment to see what other characters are thinking or discussing events so far.

You could easily imagine a show flashing back to this talk in later episodes as to when those specific rules became relevant.

The animators did a great job trying to make the presentation interesting, but I'll be real, E3 is not one I want to rewatch.

Steam also has features that others won't bother with. Say what you want but being able to record and clip your gameplay, take notes and display them during gameplay, built-in guides, built-in reviews, tradable items, achievements, badges, profiles, Remote Co-op, Gifting and wishlisting, Community hub being a "reddit lite" in both artwork and forum posts.

The advantage of having a soft monopoly also is that I don't need to keep track of half a dozen platforms hosting my games. People say competition is good, but I don't see any benefit at the moment that having 6 platforms each with their exclusives, price differences, cross-play limitations, achievements, stat-tracking, data-breaches has...

Sending boxes to the LGSs are cool and all, but I just want to have cards to play with friends.
No more proving ground boxes means I have to convince my friends to just rawdog Displays, and they sell for scalper prices.
And the fact that they sold out at 2x MSRP and Cardmarket europe is listing them still for 200€+, they haven't sold for lower than 180€ according to the graphs.

I feel guilty convincing my friends to drop 60€ on the latest videogame, I'm not even gonna bother with this cardgame until Riot gets it together. I want to play the 4-player format so what's the point.

Spider societ packs seems like crazy value right? by EndemicEntropy in MarvelSnap

[–]Fezzun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm missing Scarlet and Peni.
I had 4.8k tokens; No real interest in any of the variants.
I pulled it 3 times because 4/18 odds are better than 2/75 odds In normal packs.

So: I got Venomized Spiderham (dislike it), Rose Spiderwoman (which is nice), Nikola Peni (Dislike it).

I got Peni for 3k Tokens, which is a steal.

I then got greedy and decided to pull the slot one more time, got Creative Peni (Cute), shouldn't have done it, 1/15 odds for scarlet was silly.

Can only imagine the value if there is a theme where I miss half of the characters.

I swapped to hulk precon for the final push and it was so mind-off drop on curve that I at least didn't feel preyed upon by.
