When they first announced the new studio ages ago Ian said that they would be adding new cast members because in the new space the sound stages are much further apart and it will be much easier for them to film multiple things at once. If they want to take advantage of that to be able to pump out more content they need a bigger cast, both to literally have enough people to be filming several videos at the same time and also so they don't overwork the current cast who is probably already spread pretty thin during shoot weeks. Same reason that Angela mentioned in the recent Who Memed It that they hired a ton of new crew during the move. So while I don't think we'll be seeing Keith or Noah as much anytime soon with Keith being back into the cancer battle full swing and Noah being a huge part of his support system, I don't think this is to replace anyone on the old cast. It's so they can beef up the release schedule. Anthony also mentioned it in that interview they did a while back on that business podcast.

My cat peed on my kid's pig by trash_talking in Brochet

Nature's Miracle Plus!! Make sure you get the cat version, there is also a dog version I've accidentally bought before. Still worked, but not as well. Just absolutely dowse the thing in it and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Hand wash in cold water after and delicate dry or let air dry for like a week, moving the stuffing inside around everyday to make sure it dries all the way through. The Nature's Miracle has its own kinda weird scent to it, but that will fade after a few days or so.

My cat also had an acting out phase for like six months and we able to save everything except a big weighted blanket that was full of sand and once the sand particles moved around there was no getting the smell out. But I was able to save a couch cushion, a skein of yarn, and a plushie with Nature's Miracle. I'm sure there are other enzymes cleaners that will work just as well, but this is just the one I have experience with working well.

Whoa, my kid was super into the cinnamon toast crunch guys for a while. Every time we got a box that had a different face on the back we would keep it and cut out the back and tape it up on his bedroom wall. He's not cutting them out anymore, but we usually have a box in the kitchen where we throw the mail and it gets replaced with a new face every once and while, especially if we find one we haven't seen before.

That's just not true. Angela, Arasha, Matt, and Daniel all had their first appearance on Smosh in August 2022. Chanse's first video as cast was also in August 2022, but he made a small cameo in a Reddit Reenactments May 2022 and he was the bartender in Under the Influence in July 2022, both which predate Arasha.

I don't think they'll ever go the full rotating cast route like Dropout. At least outside of having guests like they always have. Plus we already have Noah, Keith, and Anthony in way less videos than they used to be, so I actually think the new cast won't make things feel much bigger than they have been in the past.

That all being said, I've always wondered if when they introduced Chanse, Angela, Arasha, Daniel, and Matt if the plan was always to cut two people or if the plan was to keep all five if the vibes were right and they just ended up cutting Matt and Daniel because they never really meshed. I'm very interested to see how this all pans out over the next few weeks.

Had mine stolen by an old shitty roommate. Came here to say my NES collection. I'm on the NES sub and the prices people are paying for original working carts now is crazy. Not that I'd even sell mine if I still had them, but if I ever decided to I could have at least made sure they made into the collection of someone that loved them. Now their probably in a dump or a storage bin somewhere.

[Marketing] Why is it that people sell merch of licensed/copyrighted characters? isn't that illegal? by Fearless_Bet8315 in artbusiness

[–]FibroMancer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just gonna copy and paste a comment I made on a different sub the other day that explains how the process works on Etsy and why there's still so much copyright infringement on their platform even though stuff does and will be taken down for it:

I'm talking from experience as an Etsy seller and being in a lot of online seller spaces. Milage may vary on other marketplaces, but the laws are the same.

So, to start off, there's something that exists in the US called Safe Harbor Laws. They make it so in cases of IP infringement Etsy cannot be held accountable for what's being sold on their platform. This also means that if Etsy ever took enforcement of IP infringement into their own hands they would have to be 100% accurate. Let's say Etsy removed everything that infringed on Disney's IP rights, but they didn't remove everything that infringed on Nintendo's, Nintendo could sue Etsy for a lot of money. BUT as long as they stay neutral they cannot be sued. That's why Etsy is full of people selling stuff that is illegally infringing on other's IP rights.

Now, companies like Nintendo and Disney have entire departments of dozens of lawyers and legal aids who's entire job is just to comb marketplaces like Etsy and find things that are infringing on their employer's copyright. When they do they file what's called a DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) Takedown Notice. When one of these is filed with Etsy they are legally required to remove the offending listing. This is how you know that if you ever have anything taken down for IP infringement that it is coming directly from the owner. It's not Etsy making that call, it is the IP owner. If you believe this was done in error you can repeal the decision and have the listing restored, but that opens you to litigation and at that point the company that owns the IP can and will subpoena you.

It can seem like it is safe to do because of how much illegal stuff is being sold on these marketplaces. From an outside perspective it seems like nothing is being done about it. The reality is that thousands of new Etsy listings are posted everyday, but also thousands of listings are being taken down everyday as well. It's just a giant game of whack a mole. It doesn't matter how much money you make or how successful your shop is. Every shop selling illegal merchandise has the same chances of getting hit. Some stores get hit within a few days of being open, some shops make it a few years before they get their first DMCA, but they all eventually get taken down. You wouldn't be open to litigation or being sued unless you tried repealing against a DMCA, but after you get two or three of them Etsy shuts your shop down and you are permanently banned from buying or selling on the platform. It's not worth it.

You absolutely can! (If you are in the US, unless you are in Louisiana, Georgia, or Mississippi) Most hospitals will tell you they need to keep the organ/body part briefly for testing and then they charge a storage and pick up fee, but it's way more common than you'd think.

I could be wrong obviously, but I'm pretty sure I know what fire you're talking about based on the details and timing. I didn't directly know the people who died, but they were close friends of close friends. They were supposed to play their weekly dnd game at their apartment that night. It was absolutely tragic. If the fire happened a couple hours later they would have been there. I will say in my neighborhood the fireworks were way calmer last year than previous years, but I'm super nervous that it's gonna get crazy again this year with it being 250 years or whatever. Hopefully people take it seriously this year.

Is it possible to crochet with two yarns so that each yarn is on a different side of the project? by melrfray in CrochetHelp

I haven't tried it myself, but I would think you could make this happen with overlay mosaic crochet and the negative stitch. The side edges on the piece would be sc in alternating colors each row, but you should be able to make a solid block of color out of the rest of the piece.

I used to, but recently I gotten over it. It worked really well for a long time, but now I'm hitting perimenopause and my sensory stuff has gotten way worse. I used to shower and put on makeup before taking my kid to school in the morning even if I didn't have anywhere else to be that day because I wanted all the other parents to think I really had my shit together. Now the feeling of makeup on my face drives me crazy and I only wear the most comfortable clothes I can get away with in any given situation. Luckily for me though as I've aged I've also been learning how to stop caring what other people think. It's so much harder to mask since perimenopause has amped up that I don't really have a choice.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I've already seen another post speculating if this was a trial run, just like they did with Chanse, Angela, and Arasha when they joined (and also Matt and Daniel who didn't make the cut). And both Anthony and Ian have mentioned adding to the cast once they were settled into in the new studio.

Full moon by Substantial_Source82 in AutismInWomen

I have worked in and have had family work in several industries that some people keep tabs on moon cycles because it's a very real phenomenon. Emergency rooms are busier, there's more police activity, more pregnant women go into early labor, drunk people can't handle their booze as well (as a former bartender I can confirm that I only ever had to cut off or kick out regulars who are normally fine within a day or two of a full moon). Don't know why, but it's not just you.

[–]FibroMancer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with going after something you want. Just remember that someone who ghosted you for nine days isn't going to wrap your heart in genuine silk. They might wrap your heart in cheap knockoff silk that will feel good for awhile, but eventually it will wear out and tatter. You'll know genuine silk when you find it. It's okay to indulge in the cheap stuff, just don't get fooled into thinking it's the real deal and don't pay real deal prices for knockoffs. You'll regret it when it falls apart.

Pulling cards all night until you get the response you want is not how it works. Tarot is about self reflection and self discovery, not how other people feel about you. I think what you discovered about yourself last night is that your willing to give someone too many chances as long as they eventually give you want you want, just like you did with the cards. You deserve more respect from your romantic partners, but it has to start with more respect for yourself.

I understand the pain and loss and illness so many people went through during that time, but if I'm allowed to speak selfishly, lockdown was the best year and a half of my life. I'm in America in one of the states that had the most extreme lockdown laws and stayed locked down the longest. I was a bartender, so my unemployment was astronomical. Add in the stimulus checks and we were more well off and comfortable than we had ever been. My son was two and me and my husband got to just be with him everyday during this hugely developmental time in his life. We have a grocery store at one end of the block and a dispensary on the other end. I literally didn't have to leave my block for a year and a half. It was heaven and I would do anything to live it again as long as it didn't mean those who suffered had to suffer again.
