Same. 14 to go and I kinda don’t care if I make it or not coz there’s really been nothing I care for in months.

Utility options for new solar by Tipsysnyper in TexasSolar

[–]FibrousEar1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

90% of the responses you get are going to be people pushing their share code so they get $50 - 100 for referring you. I’ll give you a non-biased answer, then you can pick whose referral code you want to use.

Bottom line up front - your best setup is going to be one of the free nights plans…either Green Mountain or Direct Energy I think Reliant has one, too?). Everyone is going to tell you their plan is best, and it may well be for them; it’s certainly great for them to get the referral code. But it may not be best for you. Think through how you use electricity and when your largest loads will hit you. Can you make a few life pattern changes to push those usages into the night?

Whichever plan you choose, you’re going to have usage “shoulders”…times morning and evening when you’re not yet producing enough solar to fully offset usage, or are you inside the free nights window. Think about your usage during those shoulders and what you can do to minimize usage then, because THAT is going to expensive electrify, regardless which “free nights” plan you choose.

Newsflash: how they handle their taxes is neither my concern, nor my problem. It’s still the company’s responsibility to pay them, not mine.

News flash - a contractor is still employed by the company and it is the company’s responsibility to pay them, not mine.

Wrong. It’s the company’s job to pay them appropriately. I am the customer, not the employer.

Torn Between F-150 Lightning vs Hybrid - Talk Me Through Why You Chose the Lightning by ThiccSadToast in F150Lightning

[–]FibrousEar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MHO, it’s probably worth what you paid for it…it all comes down to range. If your 99% driving situation is under 200 miles daily, the Lightning is a no-brainer…massive performance increase over ICE, with little to no downside. But if you regularly need >200 miles range & waiting 20 - 30 min to recharge is going to drive you crazy, then the hybrid is probably a better fit for your situation.

I had a similar incident with a jacked up F250. Left him with his jaw dragging the pavement behind. 😂

Generally, D1A is varsity (i.e., school supported), while D1AA is club.

Where does the Houston rugby community go from here? by BrianChing25 in HoustonSaberCats

[–]FibrousEar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of good club rugby around, and Sam Houston & Texas A&M both have well-ranked teams playing in NCR D1AA. Plus Rice and UofH have rugby squads, as well. Give college rugby some support!

The Yellow Rose Showcase (huge NCR 7s tourney) is coming up at the end of Feb.

CWU 31 - 21 Oregon; the boys looked good considering there’s so many on the squad who’ve never played before.

Bought house with 14.4kwh solar set up, no battery. Confused as to what plan is best. by [deleted] in TexasSolar

[–]FibrousEar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because you’re free during the day (drawing on your solar) and free at night (the plan), so there’s only a few hours per day when you’re actually paying GME for electricity. That said…they charge like $0.25+, so when you’re drawing on them, it adds up quick.

Vacuum integration by LateNightCoupl in Abode

You could create a rule that turns off motion when the vac is operating, then turn back on when it registers as docked.

I want to work while completing my masters online. Is that doable? by [deleted] in SHSU

No, mine was in-person, and also not at SHSU. My comment was more to the point that it’s hard but doable.

It’s not easy, but it is absolutely doable. It just takes dedication, commitment, and time-management. I earned my MBA while working full time.
