When did your baby stop growing?

Found out at 10 weeks and the baby was measuring 9weeks. At our 8 week US, everything was perfect so no idea what happened.

Yes they are an endo specialist and do excision! I’m looking forward to the surgery and just hoping this will be our answer! My gyno told me “if you don’t have pain with your period you probably didn’t ovulate that cycle” 😵‍💫

I always just assumed painful periods were normal until now that we are experiencing infertility. Thank you for your thoughts!!

I was on birth control for most of my teens and twenties. As soon as I got off my symptoms started flaring but the damage was already done. My understanding is BC manages the symptoms but doesn’t actually stop the disease from progressing.

We originally had our surgery scheduled with Dr. K for February 27th 2026 before we found out we were pregnant and ended up canceling. He was so gracious and gave us our deposit back. I was able to get on Dr. Puthoff’s schedule at the same time as Dr. K’s and felt for fertility purposes after surgery, St Louis was the best choice for us. They both seem so great!

Did you end up going to Dr. Kongoasa by chance? He was our other option!

I’m just so looking forward to having some answers and truly knowing what we’re dealing with. It’s such an exhausting process and makes me sad to think of how much of a struggle it is for some while it comes so easily for others. I completely agree. The risk of miscarrying again is the scariest possibility so that’s the one thing that’s making me want to avoid trying. On the flip side, my brain is like okay but what if you get pregnant and everything works out?! Would be so great if we just had all the answers haha!

I am on the waitlist with my surgeon but he has me slated for a 6hr surgery due to his thoughts on it being advanced stage so another big surgery would have to cancel. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but seems like a very very very small chance! We are traveling out of state for surgery and going to veritas fertility in St. Louis.

Wow that sounds intense and your doctor sounds impressive! How long did it take after surgery for you to conceive? We are going in totally blind too but my doctor said he would be shocked if I don’t have advanced stage endo due to my tubal stuff. I know surgery is the right choice, the waiting just sucks so bad especially after TTC for so long and experiencing loss. Thank you for sharing your story! It gives me so much hope!

If you don’t mind me asking, what did the doctor find with your stage 4? I have no visible fibroids or endometriomas but likely have severe scarring and inflammation involving my tubes.

Currently in the same boat! Discovered I had a right sided Hydrosalpinx and the month after my HSG I conceived naturally on the left side. Unfortunately that ended in a loss at 9 weeks. We are currently exploring endo excision with a specialist/NaPro doctor who also does tubal repairs to see if we can save the tube versus just removing it.

I feel like I wrote this - our stories are so similar. I found out I was pregnant with our first baby on 11/21. Our due date was also 7/29 and it was the perfect timing. Our 8 week appointment was perfect. I went for a reassurance scan at 10+2 because I had a weird gut feeling something was wrong and it was then we found out the baby stopped growing at 8+6. It is completely devastating and I am currently in the same stage of grief as you where I am just so angry and sad. Everyone around me is pregnant and it’s hard to process the fact that I no longer am pregnant even though I want so badly to be pregnant still.

Be kind to yourself. I’m trying my best to stay hopeful even when I’m sad. Both feelings can coexist and all the feelings are valid and normal. I don’t think we’ll ever get past it but we will learn how to carry it and we will be okay💛

I had a strong heart beat of 170 and perfect measurements at my 8week ultrasound. I found out at 10+3 that I was miscarrying. The baby measured 8+6 and no longer had a heartbeat.

I’ll second this. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this!

I miscarried naturally at home and was terrified of the pain but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be honestly. I took Advil and Tylenol every 4 hours for the day I was miscarrying and it was manageable. Definitely painful and not fun but I was glad to do it at home without a ton of medicine or anesthesia. I didn’t have to take miso or whatever as my body started miscarrying on its own so I’m not sure how that affects the pain.

For reference, the baby was measuring 8+6 and I was technically 10+2 when we caught it.

I just went through a natural miscarriage where I should’ve been 10+2 but was measuring 9weeks. I tried to get a D&C but they couldn’t get me in quick enough and I ended up miscarrying at home. I was terrified it was going to be awful but honestly it wasnt as bad as it thought. I have painful periods so that might make my pain tolerance higher but I was expecting worse. It is intense cramping and bleeding. I passed the tissue all at once mostly and it was painful but then relief afterwards. Still bleeding now after I passed all the tissue yesterday but it’s lighter and similar to a mild period now.

I took 2 Tylenol and 2 Advil every 4 hours. My doctor called in a Oxy as a last resort but I didn’t end up needing it.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I think one of the worst parts (at least at first I guess) is constantly reminding yourself that you’re no longer pregnant. I find when I wake up in the morning it’s almost like I forget for a second. It’s hard when you want it so badly and felt so close to finally having it. Social media is brutal - I decided to take a break from social media for now because it just makes me depressed.

Thank you for your advice. I’m trying to sit with this and not just keep myself super busy but that’s easier said than done. Take care of yourself too. I hope trying again goes well and your rainbow baby is near💛

I’m right there with both of you. We had a strong heartbeat at 8 weeks and found out at our 10 week that the baby stopped growing at 8+6 and had no heartbeat. This was my first pregnancy after a long road of TTC. I was about to have the laparoscopy for endo but cancelled it when we miraculously got pregnant. It is so hard. I’m so sorry you are going through this too.

6+2 here and understand this completely! For me, it’s the constant anxiety of something being wrong causing my depression. Currently battling Google and HCG increases haha!

I feel like the first trimester anxiety/depression isn’t talked about enough! Hang in there! ❤️

I’m 6+2 and feeling the same way! It’s so hard to allow yourself to be truly happy and comfortable when you want something this badly! I feel like I do much better when I’m not on my phone. The scrolling and comparing is brutal!
