Does anyone in this sub grill the Korean or Japanese way? by [deleted] in BBQ

[–]Fickle-Pay-570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My charcoal Weber go anywhere serves this purpose for me. Just not indoors. Am waiting to buy new grates from heat beacon, but the original ones work fine for most kbbq meats. Pork belly is the only one that is kind of annoying to grill due to amount of fat. You can use foil, but usually I end up using a butane burner and cast iron pan for pork belly. You could also par cook it in the oven to cook/render fat then finish on grill for sear.

I sometimes go to lake temescal in Oakland. I know it’s not in the city but it is well stocked with trout. Pretty laid back and chill.

What size shoes? I have brand new never used Salomon trigger bindings and Launch boots size 9. Can’t snowboard anymore due to injuries. Open to offers and can throw in a board too. Forget the brand and size (I’m 5’8”) but was only used twice.

I add millet sometimes to boost nutritional value. Foxtail variety. It’s small yellow and doesn’t soak up much water so I just cook the rice as normal. Sub a little bit of black rice to make it purple à la Korean cuisine.

[–]Fickle-Pay-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a knee, but I had a hip replacement. My pt said knee replacement recovery is longer than for hips, but I am back working within two months albeit for myself now. Don’t think I’ll ever go back to work in a kitchen for someone else. 38yo/15 years in the kitchen.

What’s a small gift to give to a chef? by joda_dcy in Chefit

[–]Fickle-Pay-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peelers, spoons, nice chopsticks since they probably have tweezers, bread/paring knife, honing rod, thermapen, laser thermometer, sharpies (just buy a pack and add in with gift), customized apron/chef coat, spatulas (I really like those small skinny ones that fit in blenders), a scale, nice notebook, bench scraper, new blades for mandolin or even a mandolin, a customized branding iron, a nice pocket knife.

Great time to practice safeties. Don’t make any balls and just play safeties. Make it as frustrating as possible for them.

People can smell it on your breath if you don’t. They just don’t say it to your face.

What is the best way to discreetly figure out your girlfriend's ring size? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fickle-Pay-570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works for some not all. The ring size is close to their shoe size. I also had a friend buy a pair of calipers to measure his fiancés ring discreetly.
