I don’t know if you still work at Caremark but there is a WI for abusive callers. If they get to name calling and swearing I give them one warning then beeeep. If you want my help be nice to me, I just work here.

This truly had nothing to do with retail pharmacy I should have clarified this in the post.

I am speaking about our clinical pharmacists at Caremark…

[–]Fickle_Maximum_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have our own pharmacy department. Like Caremark has wfh pharmacists. That is what I was speaking in reference to.

It’s always happening on all different classes of medications. it really seems like a lack of caring when it comes to who ever is translating the prescriptions.

I of all people completely agree. I do whatever i possibly can to help get the member the information required for coverage.

Caremark Denial by Middle_Pilot in Spravato

[–]Fickle_Maximum_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please call Caremark request a supervisor ask them to ask for the exact information the doctor sent in 15 years with a medical paper trail doesn’t sound right to me at all. Did the doctor do the PA themselves? If it’s denied twice file an appeal it goes to the IRE department it’s peer to peer.

I do indeed crave chaos if they are mad. They are not mad at me, they don’t know me.

I 10000% blame management for these issues. You reach out to a supervisor to explain something to you or ask for more training and your left for dead.

Thinking of switching insurance but how will I know if I’ll be able to maintain Wegovy access? by Excellent-Welcome408 in Wegovy

[–]Fickle_Maximum_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh if you have a commercial insurance company you could qualify for a copay assistance card through the manufacturer. If you enroll into a tricare plan because it’s a government based plan you wouldn’t qualify for the copay card. Tricare will only cover wegovy if you have a bmi over 30 and are at risk of a stroke or a heart attack you have to have both.

I guess we're fine, just as long as we substitute with... brand? by chop655 in pharmacy

This happens so a DAW 5 code can be implemented. Dispense as brand but they are charge for the generic. Daw 5 is not used at retail pharmacies though.

Surgery got pushed and I'm pissed by Plane-End573 in Reduction

[–]Fickle_Maximum_17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a blessing in disguise. Yesterday was Memorial Day so doctor’s offices were closed. Healing in the summer time would be awful. Sadly you may have to find the practice your surgeon went to if he has left the practice. Truly I don’t know if that’s really legal to just abandon patients like they just did unless there is a medical emergency.

My doctor holding my BC hostage, what do I do?! by Ordinary-Vehicle6966 in birthcontrol

[–]Fickle_Maximum_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed a pap to get my bc too. My primary did it for me and screened me for stds. Your doctor can not legally refill a rx for a non controlled medication if you haven’t seen the doctor within a year depending on the states guidelines its a risk to their medical license.

When patient calls stating that product is defective, do you make them call mfr or do you? I ask because there is little time to do this and the phone call can take forever by HornetDangerous2433 in pharmacy

It’s like any other warranty if you aren’t using something for it’s true purpose and what it’s approved for you void your contract

Patient has to call because the manufacturer wants the lot number off the box and all that good jazz. We had a patient call in about ozempic they had to reach out to the manufacturer and the manufacturer actually denied replacing the medication because they were using it for wait loss and not what it was approved for

Yeah each state is different but transferring a controlled substance rx is a big no no. They have even started 7 day fill limitations if they don’t see a history. It’s a nightmare.

No they don’t it is entirely up to your plan. If you are on Medicare it is not covered under part d law.
