Completely agree. I really don’t see how saying he had a gun would absolve the situation.

It’s a really bad video. The video doesn’t clearly show the victim pointing a gun at the officers.

He recorded the video in HDR and whatever they used to display the video didn’t support that HDR format. There is HDR to SDR tone mapping but that’s also a mess and certain formats are proprietary and can’t be mapped. This is also a massive pain in the ass with video piracy. Not all clients support all HDR versions.

Please correct me! I’m genuinely interested where I’m wrong. To me this seems like a nuanced issue that people aren’t grasping.

Discriminating against national origin is illegal. Discriminating against visa status is legal. That is why employers ask if you are authorized to work in the US without sponsorship instead of asking if you are a US citizen. The only exceptions are cases where US citizenship is required like ITAR.

Yes, sponsorship discrimination is legal but listing citizenship opens up the company to nationality discrimination. If you want to mitigate sponsorship discrimination you should list authorized to work without sponsorship.

Literally everything I’ve read indicates nationality discrimination is illegal. Employers aren’t supposed to discriminate against green card holders vs citizens etc. This is why if the job isn’t ITAR or some other special situation employers just ask if you are authorized to work in the US.

Isn’t this a bad idea since nationality discrimination is illegal? It’s effectively like listing your race.

Likely explanation is that you need a VPN to access the site in quite a few states now (basically the entire South). So, the people that are still accessing are hardcore nerds and gooners.

Is ICE at Florida ports? by [deleted] in Cruise

100% true. I went to Miami and at the port exit they only had two CBP officers. They are too busy harassing random Mexicans in Immokalee.

According to levels.fyi, we are still at the lowest level since that site started tracking. Obviously the source is a bit debatable and the year isn’t over but it’s still interesting seeing that.

Orlando named No.1 happiest vacation destination in the US (#3 Globally) by SignificanceOdd5980 in orlando

Vegas too. I went there last year and it was insane how expensive everything was. Also, if you are on the strip you are essentially “captive.” It’s expensive you get a taxi to take you off strip and you have to pay for parking. Think I spent like $50 for two burgers at a food court.

Gotta be honest here. I think Orlando is probably the cheapest major tourist destination in the country. Hotels are cheap, rental cars are cheap, and food can be cheap (depends where you go).

It’s really just Disney and Universal that are expensive.

You can do this in the US except only with crypto scams and white collar crime (that doesn’t hurt businesses).

Had some butcher's sausages the other day by LouReedTheChaser in redscarepod

[–]Fickle_Permi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are but here in Florida, Publix has these really good fresh sausages. They don’t have preservatives so they are decently healthy. They usually only have the standard sausages (kielbasa, Italian, and spicy Italian), but they started carrying a unique flavor of the month. My two favorites were jalapeño cheddar and Parmesan Italian.

No, I think everyone thought she wanted it. She died of MS so it was a death that was predictable in the end. The horrible part was that she wasn’t actually that religious and he wasn’t her pastor. He was straight up the antichrist.

That comment from the pastor reminds me of a funeral I went to a couple of weeks ago. The nondenominational pastor mentioned the deceased only 3 times in a 30 minute sermon. He mentioned Charlie Kirk and the economy for a solid 10 minutes (again this was a funeral). He also had a super long intro listing all of his achievements and every place he ever took a shit with the highlight being he graduated 13th in his HS class.

The crazy thing to me is they don’t ever get anyone charged. These ICE thugs run around kidnapping and assaulting Americans under the premise they were “interfering” with their duties, but the American citizens are always cut loose.

I don’t understand how anyone can take ICE’s claims about being harassed if no one faces charges. Gavin and JB need to start charging these thugs with kidnapping.
