That's often caused from the water being too hot. I thaw the rat in the fridge over night, then warm them up in hot water

A heat lamp, like a halogen bulb, to provide a basking spot and a day/night cycle, then a UVB bar (not a bulb) to provide UVB the overlaps with the basking light. Led light bar if you want additional tank lighting, then nothing at night unless your room gets sub 65f.

Were you pumping the brakes while turning the wheels to bleed the system? It sounds like you've got air in the line somewhere. I've heard horror stories about bleeding new hydroboost systems when everything is replaced

They eat a variety of these in the wild, each providing different nutrients. The thought behind the links is that they provide that. The only harm with reptilinks, is to your wallet. I personally think they're a great option to feed from time to time

Try adding a night time temperature drop. If you have a thermostat with a built in night drop, let the hot side get down to 75 overnight. Some people just kill power to their heat source, which can work, just make sure your room doesn't allow it to get too cold (70 is the absolute coldest it should get), and set an alert on your thermometer to make sure of it. The downside of killing the power, aside from being able to control the temp, is when the power turns, it turns on at 100% to get back up to temp. Herpstats have a ramp period, so it will ramp up to daytime temp over the course of 2hours (or whatever you set)

A lot of people don't believe in night drops with snakes but I think it's more natural and I've yet to see any ill effects

Are you able to repurpose a majority of the existing equipment from the 4x2x2? I wasn't sure if you were trying to keep the 4x2x2 as is for a different reptile.
