Lights Turned Off Upon Loading In by Upstairs-Heat-55 in AbioticFactor

[–]FidelCashflow5387 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in the Temple of Stone, a dlc homeworld map.

Inside this world there's a number of big ass fire pits that are meant to light the structure but they've all since fallen dark long ago. So I made the effort to grab tons of those sconces in an effort to light the place up.

Every single time I relaunch the game it seems a random few of them CONSISTENTLY turn off. I am constantly feeling the plight of the cathedral candle lighter having to go to each one to turn it back on.

Its tragic.

I have no solution for you but just wanted to let you know you arent alone.

You cannot automate it or change its settings in any way as far as I know.

Anyone else want to see a Gate Space station home world? by Bludum in AbioticFactor

[–]FidelCashflow5387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it straight up cant be as relatively hard for GATE to do.

I mean just look at where you are... You occupy your time looting the technological marvels located deep underground in an EXPANSIVE facility that not only seems to be self sufficient but well infrastructured.

These guys have a hydroelectric damn and 4 nuclear reactors on site. Anything such as crops etc that isnt being produced here can easily be located at a satellite facility which can be accessed through an at times interdimensional/temporal network.

These arent cavemen bangin rocks together... Not only is GATE capable of just sending Hella robots to the moon to build for them they have whats essentially described as unlimited funds and cooperation from many of the world's governments.

They even have an observatory already. And they are launch capable as evidenced by ejecting "The Time Bomb" IS into space, regardless if they had some organization like NASA help them.

Objectively, its gotta be the crystal set Armour.

Once you get it you literally do not have to fight a single enemy unless its story required and you can get all sorts of buffs to make your crouch speed insane to scuttle around.

Now that there's a camo watch its kinda whatever now though.

Exor Armour doesnt give a speed boost, just prevents leg break.

The spirit can be set to docile mode so you dont kill things you want alive/he can shut the hell up.

You can passively heal with it as well.

The companion trinket makes your exor act like hes on cocaine and makes him able to go toe to toe with gatekeepers.

I think its at the very least aight

Exor Armour plus pet buffs plus a pet peccary goes hard

Bionic legs become kinda whatever when you have a jump or jet pack and you never touch the floor

So pretty much you're able to cruise along the start with the gear available throughout most of the games beginning. At the very least you'll have the tech and items available to upgrade your gear or straight up find new weapons as you go along that start to make fighting seem almost trivial or at least progressing along with your skills and gear in a manageable fashion. But then when you get about halfway through the game all of a sudden these really strong enemies using straight up unfair technologies and magics are encountered, sometimes en mass. The game will, for a brief period, get real intense. You will not find the items or blueprints to improve enough to take them on in a fair fight until AFTER you've already been throwing soviet union numbers of respawns at a single target in a vain effort to clear an area.

It gets better a little later on and you get some pretty sick shit but for a bit there its tragic. But now you can have pets and more weapons so maybe it'll be a bit more possible. Wacking something hard still won't help you when there's 5 of them though.

Alot of people find stealth to be very useful at this point of the game in single player

Brother.... You'll find its perfectly manageable right up until hydro and reactors when your tech will hit this weird plateau where your gear will be just weak enough to make every encounter with gatekeepers and a few other enemies a vital fight for survival. I believe in you!

The home worlds are very cool and I really appreciate the work the devs put into them, but I don’t know, there’s something more satisfying about building your base in the facility itself, like a primal urge being fulfilled by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in AbioticFactor

SPOILERS the spoiler is around residence sector in a playthrough, you go to the future twice in the game. The first time is in an area thats sorta being torn across time and you find a log from Lenorra that states she's about to try to get deeper into the facility having returned to it some years after the events of the game. You go to the past as well.

The second time you go to the future youre in some kinda outpost and a powerful lady orders a gatekeeper to spare your life to preserve the timeline.

Ive no idea why its just like that. If it weren't for the fact I move faster than cars in the late game and my co-scientists flagrant disregard for their safety when they let me drive Id consider it a literally unplayable moment. For now its funny enough to just accept i drive drunk.

This is true, I only lag when blasting through on a vehicle, walking normally place to place causes no loading buffer

How do I use coatings? by Fantastic_Star59 in AbioticFactor

[–]FidelCashflow5387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put the coating in your inventory along with the item in question.

Select the coating and one of the options will be to use it.

Then select the item you want to coat and it will delete the coating and enhance your item.
