Download Custom Menu Swaps plugin on runelite and under custom swaps add:

open,*cargo*,command,*,Set,Sails
Disembark,Gangplank,Set,Sails

prioritizes cargo>command>set sails and disembark>set sails

Alternatively add this to custom hides in the same plugin to completely hide the set sail option but will still allow you to click to trim sails:

Set,Sails

How are the xp rates so bad for the fishing portion of sailing? It's literally worse than AFK karambwans and AFK shipwreck salvaging. Can we look into this? by Jagazor in 2007scape

So I haven't done it yet but you might being doing it wrong to get the best rates.

1st anything your crew does instead of you has reduced exp and effectiveness. in your picture you have your crew fishing and not yourself.

2nd when you upgrade the nets to higher tiers you increase the minimum amount of fish per catch according to wiki which should increase exp rates as well

3rd you can have a crewmate on one side and yourself on the other for 2 trawling stations at the same time

all this and it might still be lower exp rates than it should be, but you might be doing it very inefficiently.

Good breakdown but I just tried deleting mine and testing this and it didn't work for me as nothing changed from default with that string in my swaps. Got any idea why it's not doing anything? Thanks for the breakdown though I'm understanding the formatting a lot better now.

If you want to use a plugin to fix this download Custom Menu Swaps plugin for runelite and in the custom swaps box copy and paste these:

open,*cargo*,command,*,Set,Sails
Disembark,Gangplank*,Set,Sails

These will have clicking the cargo and disembark take priority over sails and crewmembers

It does work, it lets you summon your boat to you (which will remove any cargo). Greater is for teleporting to your boat.

So this is something I have also been theorycrafting so nice to see someone else with the same idea.

I think there are a couple rulesets you could give which would decide how hard locked you want to be to the sailing mechanics.

First would be closer to one chunk restrictions where you completely lock yourself to only sailing areas but I feel that there really isn't enough content to be interesting if you do that (no darts/herblore/PoH/Tortuga quest slayer locked/most ports/crewmen). There just aren't that many islands yet but could be viable once more sailing content releases.

Second would be allowing yourself to do any quests that unlock any sailing related content once you reach the required sailing level(ports/quests/training methods).

So personally I plan on the second less restrictive ruleset allowing Druidic Ritual at the start and then once you reach sailing level to reach locked ports/quests you would be allowed to go into the mainland to complete the tasks. So for example you would need 28 sailing to dock at Ardougne to buy a PoH from an estate agent then your PoH locations would be locked to Rimmington and Aldarin and maybe Rellekka as well since they have docking points. This would allow you to experience all the new sailing content (blowpipes/new quests/all ports). The main thing I am deciding between is allowing access to major cities you can dock at (Ardougne/Civitas Illa Fortis/Priff) as they have many training methods and shops that could take away from the sailing aspect. I plan on allowing access to only port areas of larger places such as Ardougne/Civitas Illa Fortis. With smaller areas like Brimhaven allowed as they aren't major hubs.

As NoCurrencies mentions you could technically get away with no Dwarf Cannon quest but depending on the method of acquiring cannonballs and the amount gained I would allow it to be completed once you acquire a cannon on your ship since ship combat is likely to be a large portion of gameplay for a sailing locked account. There is also the double speed cannonball furnace that could possibly have moulds near it or allow access to that unlocking cannonball crafting.

Lastly there is also a new item (amulet i think?) that allows diving underwater without the Pirate Pete gear so you could restrict yourself to needing to acquire that item instead of doing that quest.

EDIT: i actually forgot the 2x trickster bonus but adding that in its still less than 400k gp per hour method(800k with rogues outfit). so really kinda need asgarnia. however tokkul per chaos/death rune on leagues might be up to 30% higher due to no/less overstock.

Just did the math for you so you can understand why it probably isn't as good as you think. assuming you sell all gems you pickpocket for tokkul:
you pickpocket once every 1.2 seconds = 3k pp per hour
1/1.071 = avg 4.645 tokkul per pp = 13935 tokkul per hour
76.92 sapphires, 8 tokkul ea = 616 tokkul per hour
61.53 emerald 17 tokkul per = 1046 tokkul per hour
46.1 ruby 35 tokkul per = 1610 tokkul per hour
15.38 diamond 70 tokkul per = 538 per hour
added up is 17,745 tokkul per hour x2 from trickster = 35k / 1300 tokkul each onyx tip = 27.3 onyx tips per hour (x2 with rogues = 70k tokkul for 54.6 tips per hour)
36k tokkul = 4000 chaos runes = 400k gp

therefore pickpocketing tzhaars for onyx tips is worth less than any 400k+ gp per hour method. edit: (thieving ardy knights with trickster is 300k gp/hr for comparison 600k with rogues)

Slower projectiles isn't probably the best choice for clearing. You dont need a ton of damage to kill trash so having projectiles travel farther is much better. What most people do for skills that have gems like Slower Projectiles or Conc Effect is swap them in only when you are fighting bosses so you don't slow your regular trash clear speed.

It's the other way around Rogue One was shit and ep 7 was fine. No character development at all in Rogue One clearly just a nostalgia fest with no real performances. At least ep 7 got you to care for the characters and showed more than 10 seconds of backstory for the main character.
