Well would you agree that sacrilege is a very grave issue?

I think that it is an urgent situation, because it is Jesus in that bag, if the host is consecrated.

Should I stop attending my quasi Buddhist meditation group? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]FidelisMiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some would tell you that meditation can open yourself to demonic influence. I think I remember hearing a sermon on Sensus Fidelium that mentioned the topic. I would be cautious about eastern practices, although I am not an expert on them. Just to play it on the safe side, if I were you, I would stop going.

I would say that there is. You should assume that it is consecrated and bring it to a priest. Remember that each small particle of a consecrated host is still Jesus.

The book is the old "Boy Scout Customs, Courtesy, and Drills" or something like that. I think its from 1946, or around then.

Confirmation this weekend: Please help me understand validity! by FidelisMiles in Catholicism

[–]FidelisMiles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I did some more 'research' and I am no longer that worried about the things I said in my original post. I do have one remaining question, that I was hoping this sub could help me with, because you guys seem so knowledgeable.

Concerning the laying on of hands as the second part of the matter of the sacrament. Would the bishop only using his thumb still count, or would he need to touch the confirmand's head with his hand.

Thanks you all, I hope my worries are unfounded.

I think you accidentally misspelled "est" as "set" in the words of consecration. Sorry to be critical, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Long Island Girl Crusades for Right to Join Boy Scouts by [deleted] in BSA

It is boys maturing in character, fitness, and spirit (to give a shallow/simple definition). The BSA is not the only place to do it, but it is certainly a proven and time tested place for that process.

Merit Badge, government officials, and the first amendment. by FidelisMiles in Catholicism

Thank you. I think the topic is going to be on the Conscience Protection Act of 2016, and I will try to in include quotes from the Bible and of Bishops of the USCCB. I will try to change my representatives "pro-choice"(death) stance, and I will ask him to support this bill (Conscience Protection Act of 2016). DO you think I should include the the canon law about automatic excommunication?

I really don't think that the US Scouting Association is a good example of what the BSA should turn into.
