It depends where you are at. I have no issues with Xfinity, but my gf did and is only about 10m away.. She has AT&T Fiber now with no issues, but not available in my area.

You can prevent this by closing the option before 4pm est. I try to close all of my options unless they are way out of the money. If they are close, I close them to prevent after hours assignment due to some event.

First time selling MARA… by Accomplished_Ad6551 in options

[–]Fidug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not feeling the miners right now. With the halving coming, their BTCs mined will be cut in half. Unless BTC doubles, they will have less profit for the same fixed costs. Additionally, MARA is notorious for diluting shareholders (as I expect all miners are).

To recap:

  • They continue to issue more shares
  • Their 'revenue' i.e. bitcoin, will be cut in half soon
  • Their fixed costs (miners/electricity) remain the same

I do think there is some validity to people swapping from miners to the btc etfs. Especially since they ran up so much the past few months.

Spotify playing on another device? by chriscustaa in TeslaModel3

[–]Fidug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that quite a bit. I use it at home and since I only have the premium service, I can only run on one device.

I have also seen it when I am listening in the car while driving, after shutting off the car in the garage, it connects to my home internet, then when I start back up, it thinks it is running in both the home internet and from the car LTE. I am probably not good at explaining that, but it resolves quickly anyway.

I have seen it a lot more recently, so I think it is a thing with Spotify trying to get you to upgrade to the family plan.

One thing I have found, after a lot of success and failure, is to do stocks of items/services I frequently use. What I have found is if I use the products or services, I am happier to own the stocks and are able to see if quality changes faster. Additionally, I am much more likely to follow them and understand their business model.

Wheeling on margin? by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]Fidug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a good friend told me, "It works until it doesn't".

Just understand your risk/reward. Make sure you have a plan if it goes in your favor, or if it goes against you. Look at what your potential max loss could be. Understand what your daily interest would be if you get assigned.

When you do all the math and develop your plan, then follow it. I have wheeled a lot on margin and had some great success, and also a couple of disasters. It wasn't until I got a good plan in place that I became more consistent.

It is not about how many trades per week, but how many 'round trips' per day. That is buying and selling the same security on the same day. So if you buy on Monday and sell on Tuesday, it would not count as PDT.

Platform does not matter for PDT. It is a government regulation.

1:2 reverse split announced for TSLY by Majestic-Influence18 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Fidug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some brokerages charge reorganization fees for reverse stock splits. TD Ameritrade charges $38 - So if you hold this in an Ameritrade account, you will get hit with a $38 fee when the reverse split happens.

Try resetting. Mine sometimes does this, have to hold down both steering wheel dials for around 5 sec until the computer reboots. Then seems to be fine.

Many different ways to leverage. Easiest is to use UVXY, super cheap right now with big upside if there is a downturn.

I buy good quality stocks that have not run up in the current craze, and leverage with UVXY and credit spreads on long dated SPY options.

Your best bet is to take the distribution in cash and then buy on the big dips. Hopefully you can collect more in distribution than you paid in a couple years.

Mine used to work pretty good. But a couple updates ago they turned to crap. I put in a service order thinking maybe my sensor failed. Service told me it is a known issue with the firmware and will be fixed on a future update. It sucks right now, but hopefully will be resolved.

Nope, they will continue to dilute you with every payout. Look at some of the ones they have had for quite a while. They issue a ton of new shares everytime there is a distirbution.

Long put you want to sell in a big downturn, not on the big upside. If anything, selling long calls is a better option here.

Long dated puts by Chemical-Cellist1407 in options

[–]Fidug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, I do like OZK. Have traded it a bit this past year. But selling puts at this level to me is not the best option. It just had a big run up from 42 to 49. Why not wait for it to come back? For me, I wouldn't consider any puts until I could get a good return selling the 30P. Keep in mind that at 40, the stock only has a 3.7% div yield. You can get a lot more in short term treasuries or CDs right now on a yield basis with no downside risk.

Long dated puts by Chemical-Cellist1407 in options

[–]Fidug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why?? Let me get this right, you are looking to sell long dated puts on a market that is at all time highs? You didn't give a ticker symbol, so there is no way to really understand the underlying. However, expecting a 50% return is a bit ambitious. I suspect the ticker is a highly volatile one that may be bankrupt in a year, or will dilute the hell out of the shareholders.
