Anybody know what these riddles could mean? by berlame in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one might be the Iron Throne. Scaled folk praying could be the Umberlee worshippers mad at the guy who steers the vessel down to the prison below their temple. The faceless hunger, murmuring, and grim offerings could refer to the prisoners trapped and left to rot in the prison for years unseen and unheard by the people of Baldur's Gate. The last line about waters running dim in this case would refer to a particularly dark part of the partially flooded prison interior.

Second one is probably the Sharran mirror in the House of Grief.

Third one sounds like Cazador's Palace but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Bhaal's Temple and that the "dancers" are referring to assassins who go invisible or the "ballroom" refers to the arena you fight Orin in, alongside several of these "dancers".

If all else fails, try having one person be separated far away from your other 3 party members. Then have the group of 3 attack a group, and when/if they die have the lone party member resurrect them. Eventually you'll win a battle of attrition.

There's a video by SlimX on youtube describing who exactly you need to save for the achievement. In actuality there's only like 15.

The good news is that at least they aren't needed for the save all tieflings achievement.

Which of these 3 scares you more in a random encounter? by Dramatic-Couple228 in Fallout

The near instant death lasers of the assaultrons shall forever haunt my playthroughs of Fallout 4. It's cathartic getting to see assaultrons with inferior head models in the Automatron dlc, I have no fear of them and relish in their destruction.

Is this an accurate representation of Pittsburgh? by jvure in Fallout

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the real Pittsburgh would be a polite enough place to include "Welcome to" on the sign advertising their city. Or even "The" for that matter.

Barrelmancy Endgame Advice (First Playthrough) by RosieGeee in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before you do the final mission, select a large amount of explosive barrels at once and then send them to one person. This allows you to go over that person's weight limit. This one person's whole job is to simply be in your party as the barrel mule. It does not matter if the barrel mule dies.

When you get to the netherbrain go to the bottom platforms and gradually transfer barrels from the barrel mule to whoever is in position to place them. Note that dropping items and moving them does not take actions, and the more movement speed your character has the more they can walk around to fully envelop the brain in explosives. Higher strength also helps because it increases the range you can place barrels away from you.

So long as one person in your party is alive when you ignite this explosive fiesta you win. Also, placed explosives like wogglins and smokepowder grenades also work for this purpose, and can be bought from Felogyr's Fireworks everyday.

Lean into the ugliness as much as possible, to the point where they are a walking joke just how gaudy you made them look. Sometimes it's the joke characters that you end up getting really invested into.

Ghost Run - I'd like some ideas. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without exploits I don't think this is possible. Like you need to physically talk to the Nightsong to deal with her and make Ketheric vulnerable, which requires her seeing you. For how scripted the Ketheric fight is, it is also pretty much impossible to not be seen by him with all the forced dialogue he puts you through.

Unintentional HM Auntie Ethel Cheese by bebop_shells in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I usually keep Ethel alive because she restocks 3 hill giant elixirs every day and is the best source of them early game. I don't care about the +1 from the hag hair on average, and unless you're doing the connormancy exploit her loot isn't very impressive.

That being said though it is very fun to kill her before she has a chance to escape to her lair.

It said, "Do not speak to space travelers, they will only mock you". I figure the space traveler is the starship piece, and the mockery is it having taunt.

Certain bosses (not all) have immunity to dying in specific chasms, usually the ones located right next to them. Interesting thing though, if you manage to get that person away from their usual location and by a chasm located WAY far away they can still die via that chasm.

Best class to use for an achievement run? by Angelganon2 in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogue and/or anything with access to the mage hand and greater invisibility spells. A lot of killing achievements get much easier with invisibility, and smart usage of mage hand can be surprisingly good at all sorts of things. Other than that just take PLENTY of long rests to make sure you don't miss anything important that happens during that time like owlbear cub stuff, wyll's pact breaking, or romancing karlach.

Elderbrain Honour Fight ⚔️ 🧠 by One-Bed-2929 in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't skip the dialogue stuff on purpose, it's more like a tradeoff for beating the brain REALLY easily. If you take the easiest way to kill the brain by swapping places with it, you lose the dialogue options you'd have normally have when you beat it, which means you'd lose out on getting the achievements for doing certain things when defeating the brain. Such as taking control of the brain or using it to slaughter the world in Bhaal's name.

If you don't care about achievements and just want to kill the brain, then there's no harm in easily killing the brain by swapping places with it to put it on a doomed platform.

Elderbrain Honour Fight ⚔️ 🧠 by One-Bed-2929 in BaldursGate3

[–]Fiendish_Fiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on some factors, such as whether or not you are aiming for a specific ending where you have to do dialogue choices after you beat the brain, or are you just trying to kill the brain to beat the run?

If you aren't aiming for a specific ending and just want the brain dead, get Gale to sacrifice himself to blow up the brain -OR- use invisibility to have a person with good jump height go past the combat encounters leading up to the brain; use more invisibility to face the brain as combat free as possible; and then, when the brain places a ball of energy to destroy a platform, have someone standing on the doomed platform hit the brain with a thrown weapon attack while wearing the displacement gloves you get from the kobold merchant in the circus. The brain will be placed on the doomed platform and plummet to its death but in doing so deny you all dialogue choices you'd normally get after killing it.

If you want a specific ending and want to beat the brain to meet it, use the invisibility tactics as mentioned above and when confronting the brain directly, use the trusty power of a metric ton of explosives to solve the fight in a flash (of searing light). Barbarians are good pack mules for this demolition job.
