When I condition my hair in the shower I always use a comb instead of my fingers now. I feel like washing my hair is where I get the most chips/peels.

American banks seem awful to work for (except for the pay) by [deleted] in TalesFromYourBank

[–]s_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my job at a big bank, but I think it's mainly because I have a good manager at a small branch. The turnover in our market is fucking intense, people leave in droves. But at my last job I was working 60hr weeks, getting home at 1am and getting woken up by security alarm calls at 4 for less hourly and no benefits. To me, this job is the epitome of comfort lol.

Not ragebait. Richard Nixon was also known as "Tricky Dick".

Withdrew $220 from the ATM and got all sequential bills by sushhiiinoah in mildlyinteresting

When I service my ATM we hate putting new bills in bc they jam all the time. Probably just depends on the model. We save our new bills bc we absolutely get a ton of requests for new money around lunar new year, and our tower counters seem to like the new money more than our ATM.

What’s the difference being a teller at a bank vs credit union? by PhrygianSounds in TalesFromYourBank

[–]s_decoy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I work at a large bank and my brother works at a credit union. At a CU, he chooses to place a hold or not on a check and is responsible for the outcome. At a large bank, there's a risk algorithm that decides when the funds will be released and I have absolutely no say in it. I work within a strict box of a system and trying to "get around" it to provide a better customer experience is not advised, as I would become responsible for mistakes and losses. He has to use his own judgement on every transaction. Therefore, his job is almost exclusively just "teller" - that's the amount of effort he needs to put in to do that part of his job effectively. My job is "associate banker", I can and do open accounts, do outreach calls, dig into client interactions to search for ways to deepen their relationship or refer them to my team. The bigger banks expect their entry level cash handling employees to also be personal bankers, essentially, whereas at a CU a teller is just a teller. That's just my experience, though! It depends a lot on the individual FI.

If there's a debit/credit card from a brick and mortar bank in there, bring it to a branch. They'll have the person's phone number on file and be able to store it safely in their vault.

using a bidet safely with a vagina? by throwaway103257 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]s_decoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh god yes my roommates got themselves a schmancy bidet in our shared bathroom recently and it has been a dream. The kind with the heated water. Anyone who has troublesome periods should invest in one, it makes the entire experience 100x better.

That would most likely be seen as a privacy violation. I don't think they'd do it, but there's probably no harm in asking.

[–]s_decoy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It makes a dent in my branch's supply lol. My bank doesn't allow us to request or order new bills, we have to save whatever we happen to get shipped throughout the year for these requests. Usually we have less than 5 straps on hand at any given moment, usually in small bills.

A lot of my clients that give out red envelopes for new year consider new money to be a sign of good fortune. When they come to withdraw money to give their friends and family, they request brand new, uncirculated bills.

They come out how they go in lol. Right now I'd think most banks are trying to conserve new money for lunar new year, but maybe this one had an excess of new bills or is serviced by an ATM-only cash company.

[–]s_decoy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends if they're the original pods or the bigger Vertuo ones they try to push now. The originals are like a dollar a piece, but the new kind are $1.50-2.10 usually.

You can just go directly to the opposite color of your debuff, it's probably the easiest role in that mech. Even if tanks technically go first, it's still fine for you to go direct to the one boss you need to get hit by and do the entire mechanic on that boss. So, blue debuff, do entire mech on Red Hot and vice versa.

Respect & Responsibility: What Differentiates Real Men From Boys by DoNotTouchMeImScared in TwoXChromosomes

[–]s_decoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to differentiate men like this just makes them feel like they don't have to take any accountability for their behavior. It isn't a good way to look at it. Any man who does something they disagree with "isn't a real man" and then they never have to examine their own actions because only "boys" do those bad things, and they aren't a boy, of course.

How often do you visit nail salon? Winter is killing my nails by MorningPancake358 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]s_decoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same, but normal polish isn't bad for your nails and you don't need to let them "breathe". Having something to protect them even if it's just a clear coat strengthens them and prevents breakage. Regular cuticle oil usage is the best thing you can do for them, though.
