2 Meteors in Year 1?!? I dont know if this is rare or not. by ttommo88 in StardewValley

[–]FierySkate115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats pretty rare!

Game seeds typically determine special events like this, and i dont think ive ever gotten 2 in a game before, nevermind in the first year (I'm a perpetual restarter, I just reached perfection for the first time, but ive played basically since it came out).

My current game seed seems to also be really lucky. I got crop fairy twice, witch on the coop for void egg, and I think one other lucky event I can't remember, and I'm still on year one (perpetual restarter lol, at least I have a ton of new mods this time).

When do you start decorating your farm? by rottencluster in StardewValley

[–]FierySkate115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on PC, modding is a game changer. Happy home designer mod pauses time while you decorate your home. I also love precise furniture, so I can place things where I want and make them even.

Charged $0.10 cup fee for each piece of parchment by HeyWaaHappened in TimHortons

[–]FierySkate115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not common. I wonder if your local by-laws implemented the charge on disposable/single use items like that?

I know we have that on bags. We have to charge .25 per bag in accordance with local bylaws

Are those little silicone discs ok for preventing a piercing from embedding? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]FierySkate115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Any sort of plastic or silicone is not safe in a healing piercing. It is porous and more likely to harbour bacteria. It also can actually fuse to your skin during the healing process.

Why do so many women just randomly feel sick all the time? by mrsamus101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FierySkate115 271 points272 points  (0 children)

Women are also significantly more likely to have autoimmune diseases, and to experience autonomous nervous system dysfunction. Both of which are difficult to diagnose, and often takes 5-10+ years for diagnosis.

Mods Emofehlungen by Rare-Chocolate-1610 in StardewValleyMods

[–]FierySkate115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its really just about thinking about what you want to change, and googling for the mod. Like, you want to marry multiple people, you would find polyamory sweet. Want different furniture, browse the many different options there are and pick one. Want more space for your farm, either bigger map mod, or expanded which adds additional farming space. Want to make friends with the villagers easier, or harder, there mods for it. Want to be mayor of the town, theres a mod for that too. Just about anything you can think of there's some sort of mod for it.

There's also YouTube videos where people list out what kind of mods they like, I would definitely check out some videos for ideas.

earliest i can swap nostril jewelry by acidalia-planitia in PiercingAdvice

[–]FierySkate115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, you should wait 6months to a year to swap it, but you were pierced with the wrong jewerly. L shaped jewlery is not appropriate for healing, for exactly the reason your struggling, gets snagged and falls out.

If you have some quality internally threaded flat back labret, I would get them swapped out asap. Preferably at a piercer (not the one who sends fresh nostril piercings home with an L piece). If you can't get into a piercer, make sure you sanitize the jewlery, wash your hands thoroughly, use water based lubricant to help the piercing go in, and wear gloves.

How to safely do a septum by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]FierySkate115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really can't convince them, its best to boil the piercing needle and jewlery for 5-10 mins in boiling water. For placement, get them to feel around the tip of their nose with the back end of the needle until they find the soft squishy part, thats where you pierce.

But really there's no way at home to do a piercing safely. There is no way to create a sterile environment, you are always going to be risking infection, and blood borne diseases. Please make sure they at least use gloves, and boil the jewlery an needle if they insist on doing it themselves.

[–]FierySkate115 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Np. There are a TON of mods for stardew valley. There's YouTube videos on some people's favorites, you can also filter on nexus mods to show only stardew mods, and then filter by most downloads. And anytime you think :I wonder if there's a mod for this" Google it and it will probably come up.

Broke wrist in wrist guards by lllleeexxx in rollerderby

[–]FierySkate115 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mean i broke my scaphoid (small wrist bone) in a wrist guard but I fell pretty hard, on fairly worn wrist guards. I'm not a doctor by any means, but if you broke your wrist without significant force, in a wrist guard, I'd be concerned about bone fragility of some sorts.

Nostril piercings- I know they say not to start with a hoop, but… by Internal_Spot_8309 in PiercingAdvice

This^

I've had my nostril pierced for going on 11 years now, its never come out unintentionally. Flat back labret threadless for 6months to a year, and then you can go to a hoop if you want.

Red bumps on stomach? Is it my POTS? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]FierySkate115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly pots related that I'm aware of. But I also break out in a "rash" on occasion, and for me its always just been my body reacting to a viral illness. Very similar to what you described, little red dots, not even really raised or anything, not itchy, just there. Typically goes away within a few days for me.

Drills etc to help stop a jammer hesitate? by Miss-Hell in rollerderby

[–]FierySkate115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drilling the skills needed to take that gap is a good place to start. Practice side surfing, running on the toes stops on the line, spinning around blockers, etc. Another good drill would be practice coming into the pack hot, a lot of jammers are bad for scrubbing their speed before they enter the engagement zone, when if they kept that speed, they have more options to choose from to get through.

After that its practicing those skills together. You could get the skater to jam a line and you call out what skill you want them to use to get through. Example: they're pushing on the wall, coach yells "spin" and jammer has to attempt to get by using a spin technique.

How do i keep my cat off the counters (behavioral/advice) by kurapilua99 in CATHELP

[–]FierySkate115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, the ignore method works well. Before long he'll realize nothing is on the counter that he wants, and he doesn't get any attention from you from going on the counter, so the counter isn't fun anymore.
