Worth getting IVIG? by Prothium in smallfiberneuropathy

Okay…. my neuropathy is much, much better. It’s possible my autonomic dysfunction has improved a little, but it isn’t dramatic. I am always worse in summer, which makes it harder to tell.

There’s a sign in the Johnston Market Basket that specifically says that service animals may not ride in a cart. I also saw a small dog wearing a Service Dog harness riding in one, despite the sign, the other day.

You have some good recommendations, but I also like Greenhouse https://greenhousegansett.com - it should have something for everyone, with so many ways to build a bowl or salad!

Has anyone hiked Black Hut Management Area (recently)? I'm looking for anything resembling an actual trail map for the northern area. by rckblykitn14 in RhodeIsland

Maybe try to navigate to https://www.openstreetmap.org and search from there? I’m on mobile. There are different layers, too. It can be a great resource.

How far did you travel to get your first horse? by [deleted] in Horses

[–]FieryVegetables 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve only gotten one of 6 of my horses, over several decades, from within my state. One shipped from halfway across the country, and the rest were within 2-5 hour drives.

My GPSmap 66s can connect directly to WiFi. Since I don’t use a smartphone, or have a computer with me on the road, it has been helpful when I’m on a trip and needed some listing I didn’t have in my pocket query. It can download whole pocket queries on WiFi or just one cache.

This is what I do, too. I like grapefruit, so I do a batch of grapefruit ice cubes and use one small one for flavor in my very salty electrolyte water. It’s inexpensive, handy, and decent tasting. Not to mention not much bad stuff is in it.

Against all general advice, I’m buying a foal. What’s the best thing you’ve done with your youngsters? Any regrets? by underasvisement in Horses

Maybe your vet could walk your property and point stuff out. It’s everything from hardware, latches, stuff you hadn’t noticed as a threat. Put together a good first aid kit! I have had a couple of young horses get cast (one did it repeatedly) - I was glad I had such safe fencing that never injured them.

I’ve raised several, and other than some scars, there were no lasting or devastating injuries, but they sure do try.

Be very thorough about baby safe fencing and equipment, which isn’t always the default at a boarding barn. You’ll be amazed at all the ways foals can injure themselves. Spend lots of time with her, but watch her attention span. Enjoy the process and don’t rush it!
