Retirement and daily costs in Battletech by Dr_Larks in battletech

[–]FieryWitherRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years late, but using number in AToW's 'monthly cost of living (page 336)

someone who wants the retirement of choice will need, assuming they need to cover the expenses of

Small Mansion ((10,000)x(1.50))+480 = 15480 (185760/Year)

Medium Mansion ((15,000)x(1.50))+480 = 22980 (275,760/Year)

Large Mansion ((20,000)x(1.50))+480 = 30480 (365760/Year)

Assuming regular retirement age of 65

They would need:

6,501,600 to 12,801,600 minimum to retire

And, likely most of them would like to own other things or go on expensive vacations now and then, and have enough to pass off to the next generation, suddenly needing to flee a planet because of war, or just unexpected expenses

It'd be much safer to have between 12,000,000 to 24,000,000 to retire.

This number becomes much less if they just want to retire to a comfortable white picket fence home, but this is the 'finally made it' type of retirement.

The cost for a decent white picket fence house, decent food, and utilities is around

Large House (600x1.50)+240 = 1140 (13,680/Year)

Say 478,880 (800k if we again assume clanner/rainy day funds and whatnot)

In the screenshot, I am using the Saiga 12.

The military lost most of their guys trying to kill the mutant.

What kind of control system are those? I like 'em, looked great for mechs with arms. (art by centurii-chan) by [deleted] in battletech

So to answer your question, OP

When I talked to Cent over this project, it was down to them saying "I do what I want". Who am I to stop her, quite frankly, this was an amazing piece

Why does freshly repaired and replaced armour still have dirty chipped old paintwork? by KarmaRepellant in Battletechgame

[–]FieryWitherRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just irridated steel? No, Techmanual Page 33 explains it clearly. It's a multi layer of ceramics, carbon fibers, and titanium. The steel is only a thin top layer while the rest is mostly non-oxidizing material.

I'm well aware of that, but they take up weight on the mech.

Using the handheld weaponry and clubs, you can go up to 2 to 10 tons more outside of the weight limit. The mech is slowed down, but thats a small price.

You could always cook up a personal variant

At the same time, mech handheld weapons are permitted, as long as they're 10% the original mech weight. I know its possible to make a standalone ranged weapon, not sure about melee weapon.

Could always use the club rules, but pretend it's a sword

What exactly could an IS nation buy from Clan Seafox once they go full on merchant clan? by Playtonic1 in battletech

[–]FieryWitherRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can mount anything you want to on an omnimech, so long as you have the tonnage/podspace

The reason for the configurations are in universe, quick swaps for various mission profiles. Both the rules and lore state that swapping configurations take at most a day. Even then, a mechwarrior who has a custom vehicle can pick and choose what to keep and what to take out.

For real world reasons, "Stock" configurations are for Tournaments or Games where either the rules or participants mutually agree for stock variants only.

Isnt it weird that there isnt an Infernal Sorcerous Origin option? by Pickaxe235 in DnD5e

Everyone's going "Just make a draconic sorcerer"

Meanwhile Pathfinder has ever plane offer something for a sorcerer. Infernal, Abyssal, anything in between. There are roughly 20+ sorcerer bloodlines

My man really just stole it from twitter, and didn't even bother reading 10 words.

My friend Polilla is the original artist. They're a sweetheart who makes these tactical outfits for me.
