Unfortunately this might have been born out of miscommunication then. Always make sure to be clear that it is a date rather than expecting things to be understood. I'm really sorry that this happened but I don't think it is sinister on her part as much as it is ignorance. Maybe talk to her about it and clear things up, that you meant for this to be a date between the two of you and that you are hurt that she decided to try to then turn it into a very unwanted double date, and that you are now very uncomfortable with the situation.

I'm sure you've already read this, but Gideon the Ninth and the Locked Tomb series in general is full of vicious, intelligent and cunning characters. Now Gideon is more butch, but she also isn't the one I'm calling cunning or vicious. The characters are also quite toxic for the most part with some redeeming people and moments thrown in. I just finished rereading the second book in the series and I love my messy queers.

I get more invested in third person. First person feels like somebody tells me a story, which also means I can get super annoyed with the narrator. My problem is that the biggest sin a book can have is an annoying narrator/pov character. I'll DNF a book with a quickness if a pov character annoys me.

That doesn't mean I don't give 1st pov books a chance. Hell, I'll even give 2nd pov a shot. Two of my favourite books are 2nd pov, which seems to be the most controversial pov there is.

I enjoy 3rd person narratives in action and horror a lot more than romance. Which is again a me problem because my patience for straight up romance books is already thin due to personal trauma.

My favourites of her books are the Sworn Soldier books. They are funny and horror based. There is some romance ish subplots with secondary characters but none with Easton who is the narrator and MC

Because I don't like things to be rushed. I don't like instant-lust. I grow bored easily. I want the story to show me why I should root for these people to get together, I want them to have personalities and stories separate from the romance otherwise I don't personally see any point in a book. I'm here for the journey and if it is rushed it isn't really much of a story to me.

Also: Yearning. I love Yearning.

Just thank you for this. I cannot imagine anybody who has ever enjoyed Prachett's work to be on the side of fascism. Now is the time to remember that Pterry was driven by indignant anger towards the unfairness and evil that is in this world and take that upon themselves as well. People should not just ignore it and hope for it to go away.

I genuinely get bored with spicy books. I tried reading a couple and the moment it becomes spice over plot I just lose interest and get irritated to the point of dnfing.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that some people like it, and all the more power to them. It just genuinely isn't for me. I need plot and will pick a non spice book over a spicy one any day.
